Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone had advice for what type of paint would be best for touching up an unsightly scratch on a saberforge factory "weathered" finish hilt. It's on an area where the paint is flat black (the weathering is minimal in this spot) and I'd like to match the factory paint as closely as possible.

Thanks,
JD

If I was you, I would send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. asking them what kind of paint they use form their weathering. That way, you could be sure to get something that looks VERY close to "the real thing". Otherwise, the only answers you're gonna get here are: "This should be close to the real thing". Between you and me, if it was my saber, I would go for THE real thing ;)!

Any idea what they'd use on the sections that aren't aluminum, and thus cannot be anodized (i.e. the thin neck sections of a Redeemer)? The weathering on this part of my redeemer has noticeably worn off in just a couple months of relatively light use, and was hoping to do something to get it back to looking like it did when I received it.

I'd wager that the thin neck components actually are aluminum anodized in yellow and orange, with the wear in those areas being black powder coat worn away with acetone.
