Very clever work, there. Did it take a lot of finagling?

thanks man!
I found that it fit perfectly in the normal SF blade plug (I randomly tried it last night). Then today I got some inserts and ground them down as to not protrude too much. Added some hot glue in the spout as to diffuse but let through light. You can look directly at it and you won't go instantly blind. Which is a bonus because I always find myself tempted to look in to it.

Very nice. Looks like it came from SF that way. Don't know how you came up with the idea, but it works. :)

Wow awesome job. I think it looks really cool, and I know what you mean by being tempted to look right into the standard plug.

This is a great idea! I wonder what else could make a cool looking blade plug?

The blade plug basically fills in the hole where the blade goes when you're using the saber hilt only (cosplay, display, storage, etc). It prevents foreign objects from getting lodged in there, protects the LED, and looks a hell of a lot cooler than a direct view of the LED lens.

That is a great idea!

I may have to try that next time I have extra material from cutting a blade down. Can you order extra covertech knobs from TCSS or SF?

Yes on both accounts.

Personally, I think this would only look good with SF's covertec knobs because of the extra detail they put into them. Then again, the users of this forum seem to be a resourceful and creative bunch, so someone could make something cool out of TCSS's rather plain knobs. B)

I just ordered a brass covertech knob so I can try making one of these as a plug for the Wayward. I'm interested to see how it turns out on a thin neck with the protruding stem for the blade, and what, if any, mods it will need.
