TOPIC: Custom Kill keys?

So I was wondering if you guys/girls have any advice on making a custom kill key?
I've got a Champion Guardian coming soon and the kill key on it looks rather pointed and obtrudes from the saber, I originally intended on ordering a SF kill key because even though it protrudes, it at least looks better, but then I read somewhere that due to the shroud they don't fit onto the Guardian. Then I found one on Shapeways, but the shipping would cost almost twice the price of the actual kill key so there's no way I could justify that. So does anyone have any suggestions how I could make a decent one? Thanks.

Yeah I did and I went to order the one with just the insert, no knobs or anything and then I realised that due to living in Dublin, Ireland - for an item costing $1.25/€1.10 I'd have to pay shipping of $45.75/€40.14 haha

Yeah I just did exactly that, I've wrote to them a few times and they always get back super fast. I'm currently waiting on a response from an email too though so I hate contacted them in two different places, makes me think I'm bothering them too much haha.
Hopefully I'll have an answer in a while anyway. Just out of curiosity though, have either of you ever attempted to make your own? |

Im pretty new to this hobby with no background in machining. At some point I wanna pull one apart and see if i can make my own saber in general one day. Dont have that kind of confidence yet though

I'm only new too, I still haven't even received my first saber yet, 8 weeks into the wait and I'm obsessing about it, literally spend all day every day looking at unboxings/reviews, reading this forum and designing stands and stuff for it ha
I'm a qualified mechanical engineer but I've never touched any machinery outside college, I might order a spare kill key and see if I can do something with it. I'd love to make my own saber too but I'm gonna leave that a while until I become more familiar with everything |

To be honest, I oppened one of my sabers (my epoch) and the inside of the saber is pretty simple, depending on what you want to include in your hilt! As for the rest, you need to gather your pieces, make sure everything is going to fit, and customize your pieces on what you're looking for! Buying straight pieces and modifying them is easier than finding the exact pieces you're looking for! |

Hello,
I had the same issue so shut the order from shapeways for a design of forcerelics. I order two red and white one. The red one does not fit in plug even I sand it but the white fits well. Check out the pictures. Also I have order directly fro frocerelics some other ones with a aluminium on the top. (last pic)

Can you remove the Aluminium top from the actual insert? I wouldn't mind getting one to play around with and putting a custom top on.
