Don't know if this has been covered before but do customizations such as engravings, etchings, shatter weathering, etc... cost extra or is it included in the price?

Those are handled by Tom Scott in customs.

They are chargeable extra's..

I see. Any idea on how much extra? I'm kinda toying with the idea of a Satele Shan GM staff in amber at some point in time.

Unfortunately what price Listings are available are vague at best, I would email and inquire with the shop. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

I have seen a price list posted, and I thought I had put a copy somewhere here on the forum. I will have to look for it, and repost it. It breaks down all the services offered by the custom shop.

Saberforge Customs Price List

Acid etching seems to start around $150. Fancy detail stuff that requires a laser is project-specific with no price range specified.

I'm still a bit confused. How exactly do I get a customized saber? Do I place a store order first and send the customization guys a mail afterwards or do I mail the customization guys from the get-go and work out the details and price and payment then?

I'm pretty sure you email Customs, they'll work with you to figure out what you want exactly, then they'll discuss pricing and give you a quote or something along those lines. I don't think ordering from one of the sites is necessary.

I've been trying to reach out to someone to discuss a custom order for about a week and not having any luck. I was told to ask on the facebook page.

Thinking maybe the shop is closed for the holidays(?) Overwhelmed right now maybe?

They are. I submitted my own request, and it took two weeks to reply, part of which was a note that they were busy until January (or at least, the Smith that answered me would be)

Apparently...
We recently experienced some really bad weather that shut us down for a few days.
Please note that SaberForge will be closed 12/24 - 12/26 for the holidays.
Please allow additional business days for email inquires.
SaberForge Customer Service & The Showroom will be open again on 12/27/16.
