Okay so, given that I can finally afford another new saber, I've decided to order a DT Reborn.
The only catch being that I don't really like the current dual tone design (below) I'd much prefer this simpler, original version: I've wrote to Saberforge and they guy I was talking to - Joshua - was super helpful and went to Phil directly to ask whether they could give me a Reborn in this design. Unfortunately they can't. So. I was thinking, if I bought an all silver Reborn, would it be possible to get someone from Saberforge to take it on as a custom job? I seem to remember Some people working at SF doing this kind of thing, but I could be wrong. If I'm remembering correctly, can any of you suggest someone who does this and let me know how to get in contact with them? Thanks

That's a little bit of a concern for me. I sent the shop a message on Etsy before I placed the order for my DT Reborn asking for the same thing and they told me it wouldn't be a problem and to just write it in the order notes.
I really like the older DT design over the current one and although I wouldn't be overly disappointed to receive my saber with the current design, it would still be a little bit of an annoyance since I was told it wouldn't be an issue before... |

Well they kinda have to stick to their word now with you because they already told you that they can so I wouldn't be too concerned.
Maybe it's just a new thing that they can't do it. It's actually a deal killer for me, I find the silver reborn too boring and the new dual tone version over the top, if I can't get the old style done I more than likely won't be getting a reborn, unless I change my mind about it being all silver but I don't think that's likely. |

Hmm. That's weird. I wonder if someone said sure, thinking we could... or... I don't know. =/ Either way, one answer is gonna be right, and one is gonna be wrong. If you're not in too big of a hurry, Ian, perhaps wait and see how his turns out? I mean, I did ask Phil, and he said "Nope, we can't do it that way anymore." But... who knows? Do you know who you spoke to, Culinary?
Either way... I'll be there Tuesday, or Wednesday... and can find out more. |

Yeah I'm not in hurry at all, I did send off an email to Justin already but It was more to see if he could do something about it should there be no alternative, I'll just wait and see how all this plays out before I go ahead with anything |

Lots of good people @ the Forge. Justin is the dreamweaver. If it's possible, he's the guy to make it happen!
Been dealing with him over the past 2 weeks, and any customization expectations have been met. |

I checked the conversations from Etsy and I couldn't find any indication of who I was talking to in any of the responses. It's not really a deal breaker for me, but I do very much like the older version with the silver claws and pommel compared to the newer version. |

I'm really looking forward to it too. Depending on the costume I'm wearing, I'll be able to switch the LEDs for my two Revan sabers accordingly thanks to the quick connects so it'll be nice to see how the Indigo looks in both. |

That's awesome to know Ottomatix, I got a reply from him earlier, the only thing he said was if I already owned the hilt or not as it'll effect his quote, so I presume he can do it no problem. Please put up lots of pictures Culinary Jedi

Oh I will, trust me haha. I plan on doing a video review/unboxing video as well, so everyone should get a very good look at the saber once it comes in. Just hit the 4 week mark today, so I'm hoping it'll be another 2-3 weeks before it ships out. It'd be a great birthday present if it shipped this week though lol  .

It sure is Ottomatix, I'm literally just about to order it right now.
Bonus points to Knytiri too for his superb customer service because initially he went directly to Phil and when the topic was posted on this he chased info down even more so it's good to know that there's somebody so willing to help who's dealing with us when we have any questions! |

Awesome news! I'm sure I would have loved the saber regardless of whether it was able to be done or not, as I don't think there's a SF saber I don't like, but it's nice to know I should be getting what I wanted in this saber! Thanks for the update! |
