From darkness, a corrupted emitter flickers to life like embers from tortured ruins…
This is Dark Satele.
Grandmaster that also came from Customs, like the previously shared Staff
here and was received around Christmas of 2016. Yes it’s another. Don’t be surprised as I’m sure you knew it was happening.
Some Specs:
Saberforge Etch| Black Chrome powder coat| Gloss black accents|
Sabercore2.0 Crimson| 12watt Red LED| 28mm Premium Speaker|
3.7v 18650 3400mAh Li-Ion rechargeable Battery| in-hilt external recharge Port.
Black Segmented, Red-lit AV switch.
As a standard positive etch pattern applied to a single hilt, there really isn’t any room for error to occur, to the tune of what I described for the Staff configuration linked above.
Some not so favourable observations:
I’ve seen this happen on other hilts I’ve acquired and it’s inexcusable. Pictured often on site image representations will have the covertech positioned on the hilts underside with the switch and port holes assuming the topside. It’s what drives the aesthetic effectiveness of the exterior surface. Unlike what I believe
should be (but consistent to how it is), is the covertech is mounted on the same side as the two 12mm switch holes which limits optimal handling efficiency too, as grippable surface area becomes reduced. As a belt hanger (with kill key inserted) it then becomes a thigh-bruiser, much like the chosen positioning of the Tri-Ring on a Prodigal Son.
Placement of the two pilot holes for the setscrews is also on the topside, that secures the blade and LED.
Disappointingly too is the LED retention isn’t correctly aligned, centred to the horizontal (as pictured) axis, consistent to the two switch holes, accent recesses and decorative greeblies.
Whilst I don’t dismiss this final colour of Standard Red, what was ordered was Deep Red however it wasn’t to be when first ignition ultimately occurred upon delivery.
