The last four "new" hilts, Justicar, Shadow Hunter, Mercenary, and Descendent are all ASP derivatives. I kinda wish they inject some new components into the mix since I already have some of these pieces in my ASPs.

Right you are with the sexiness that is Jade's Body. Looks to be alright of a configuration, mostly. Shame about the Fallen Pommel. Just isn't the bow that binds it altogether though.

Looks like to me you could *almost* build this on ASP, but the Jade body has the black detailing on ASP whereas this one does not appear to have the grooves picked out. (this makes me want to break out the word "anodized" but to be honest I'm not sure if it's the black portions or silver portions that are anodized). I am going to jump on this if they do an initiate version.

this makes me want to break out the word "anodized" but to be honest I'm not sure if it's the black portions or silver portions that are anodized
Generally the gross majority of SF hilts receive anodizing.All silver finish= anodizing w/o sanding over the aluminum standard finish= part painted black, anodized, sanded down so silvery parts have the brushed look and recessed portions are black The Mercenary seems to have received a variation of the typical silver finish where it's been anodized and then sanded down so the majority of the body has a brushed look while the recessed bits have the velvety cast aluminum look. |

Thanks for the education! I think that's exactly how it comes on the Jade Fire as well (could be wrong). It makes sense though that Saberforge would want the sabers they sell from the main site not to be 100% re-creatable (is that a word?) through ASP. |
