Not sure about the specifics, but here ya go!
A duel worthy unstable blade has always been a unicorn, now the unicorn blade is real, so is our linear containment blade.

Looks like the horn of a unicorn...

Also, from the name, I'd say it will look more "defined", with less light bleed (less of an aura)

I believe the intention is to give folks a blade option for the "unstable" look, which gained popularity with The Force Awakens, and Kylo Ren's saber.

Here is a little more info...
Here is a better look at the new containment blade. The linear containment blade is clear extruded polycarbonate with linear round ridges running the full length, it gives the illusion of a core with a containment field that matches the pattern of our original elite style blade plug.

Looking forward a review of this blade in a dark environment. Seems very charming.

The "Unicorn" unstable blade. Extruded polycarb rated for full contact dueling. Spiral unstable shape, duel diffused.

Hi All,

Looks more like a Narwhal tusk to me (much longer than a Unicorn horn), but hey call it whatever.

And is it just me or does anybody else feel like eating Marshmallow Twists after looking at this blade? :P

Don't know why but did't like it. It reminds me more my little pony than an unstable blade.

For Tyeth, do you have a Unicorn at home?

I do agree on the Narwhal resemblance, but how would I know how long the horn of a unicorn is? :D

Hi Sharangir,

No I don't own a Unicorn but I have it on good authority a Unicorn horn is TWICE as long as HALF a Unicorn horn if that helps!

I wonder if the texture on the unicorn blade gives you an advantage while deuling.

Thanks for explanation Brax; was already wondering why that particular blade was any different from the regular V4, but cool to see this is SF solution to the Kylo Ren unstable blade (mean I like the Ripper acryllic blade's look, but you can't duel with them and even normally they look fragile as ****) - at least I figure this is fully duel-worthy?

Oh and the unicorn; something for the wife :P

OK, these are now available from the SF website. There is also an option for you cross-guard owners to order a 37" blade, with two 6" blades for a single price, in the drop-down box.

They show up under "Blades", in two different categories, as "Containment", and "Unstable" blade types.

They’re both added to my cart, now just waiting for a promotion code, lol.
When will the next promotion be?

Hard to know exactly, but they tend to average out to one every other month, or so. Obviously, that is not a promise, or a commitment. Just an observation of the past couple of years. B)

It’s just that I don’t have $90 to splurge on 2 blades with shipping. Also, any info on when these will be available on Etsy?

Are you going to add these blades (as well as day blades) as a drop down option for completed sabers or ASP sabers or will they remain only as extras? As an example, I have a dozen different hilts with varying blade lengths. Perhaps you can add these as an option ($5 upgrade style/color) so I don't have to buy them separately as well as the standard blade. Just a thought.
