I have always enjoyed your videos by the pool. The color reflecting off the water really shows off the blade. Nice dark red leather wrap and it goes perfect with the blade color and weathering.

I was not sure what to think about cross guard sabers when I first saw one in the TFA trailer. What I have decided since then, is that I do in fact like the concept, and design wise, I like the Templar (and by extension, Relic) better than Kylo's saber. Especially after seeing something that looked a lot like a Templar in Star Wars Rebels.

Your saber is exquisite in every detail, and I love the color combinations of the finish, wrap, and LED. Congrats, and well done!
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

LED color in a video is challenging to show "accurately". Figured reflection / refraction work best in as many different ways as possible. Thanks for watching!

That's what I thought about the cross guard too when I first saw it in TFA trailer, I thought "that's not right, it's breaking away from the canon". I think it has grown on me with the Relic. I can find it acceptable with the new generation of episodes because it represents a line of "saber development / change with the new" I guess. I'm not sold on Kylo's actual saber from the looks department but it makes sense because KR in TFA was a very rough and ready Sith in training.

Thanks Brax!

Your review was enjoyable to watch, and the pool video was just as much so. As others have said, the pool does a great job of showing off the color. Thank you.

Hey, I wonder when the last Etsy saber will ship out? The crossguard got me thinking about that.

Very nice saber, love those white gloves also. Red is the right choice for it. Congrats. Can't wait to see videos of you swinging it around.

Great looking saber! Thanks for the review. Templar's are such a beautiful design. And bonus points for the bossa nova.

Superbly done Ex66 and consistent as always. I had been waiting for you to Post the Video Review of this second Crossguard of yours when you first previewed it with Quick Photos. The Dark leather Wrap looks so much deeper and dramatic in video format rather pictures, excellent choice. Thank you for sharing. It may be difficult to answer, as much as Templar is favoured (as you describe) which do you prefer between Templar & Relic now that you have both?

Thanks everyone for your kind words! Heartfelt for the encouragement. Reviews / youtubes are done for all of us to enjoy and to assist when it comes to making that big decision. Also to help with the lead times. :)

Which do I prefer? The Relic is quite different to the Templar. Physically to hold and to spin, I would prefer the Templar as it is easier to work with. The Relic looks more imposing because it is bigger, symmetric with a purpose and it has physical presence. The Templar is probably the closest saber I have to Kylo Ren's in spirit. So, which one from these qualities? I suppose I'm glad to have both. Shall do a comparison video, I think you might be surprised how much bigger the Relic actually is. :)

Ex66, only reason I asked was, comparing to your handling of the two you seemed to have better control with Relic. If anything I just reasoned it to your comment about sweaty hands (during the Review) and noticed you were glove-less during the demonstration by the pool and thought maybe it was causing some minor slipping. :P I had often wondered about the size differences between them and in due time your comparison featuring both simultaneously may reveal the answers. I personally would be torn to favour one over the other. Excellent collection, Well Done!

I recall I had more time with the Relic when I made its video. I also think the grenade grip section of the Relic actually provides better grip but the Relic is heavier to work with. When I shot the Templar video, you are right in that I was slower with it as I am still warming up to it when it comes to spinning. I do find the Templar easier to work with because of it's smaller dimensions and weight.

Awesome Saber. Absolutely LOVE the red leather. It looks better than the one I just received today from the Etsy website. Your kill key matches your hilt, and doesn't have the silly "SF" SaberForge logo on it. Also, the weathering on yours extends to the ring around the pommel, whereas mine does not.

Since this was my first *ever* saber purchase, I do have a question for you:

Is the main blade supposed to "wobble" slightly when the saber is swung around? Does yours wobble at all? Apparently, mine does :( . Not sure if that's a machine/design flaw or just inherent to such a long blade. At any rate, I was excited to receive mine and I appreciate you sharing the reviews on yours.

Cheers!

I'm pretty sure this attachment is too big for the forum. I'll need to find a way to shrink it down a bit, then repost...

Welcome to Saberforge and congratz on your new saber! Sorry for the late noticed response.

My main blade does not wobble, it sits firmly in place when I swing it around. A starting place to check is the bottom of the blade - was it cut perpendicular to the length of the blade? You could test by inserting one of the side blades into the main socket and see if that makes any difference. If so, then it's probably the blade.

Great review as always. I like the pool shots as well. They are calming for some reason.

This review makes me want a cross-guard saber. I need to slow down, ha.

Just a short video showing some day blades on the Templar V2, including two side day blades.

I'll be honest...I'm not a fan of day blades for some reason. But with that said...these look GOOD on this hilt!
