This is my first non-Force FX Saber. Loved it.

The only bump during this "ride" was that I wasn't of the existence of this site (saberforge.com) and only knew about this awesome lightsaber from Etsy... I only found out about this forum a couple of days ago from an FB post -- but my package was already well on its way here to the Philippines... So I missed the FAQs on this site that says that 12W+ LED is a thing. FML!

I guess another thing is that I requested for a black strap but they shipped me with the dark brown. Buuuuuut.... looking back at photos of Templar V2s with Black strap, I'm now quite thankful that they sent me the Brown. The force works in mysterious ways.

Very nice saber. It's much brighter than the other two shown in your picture.

could have been brighter and more consistent had I discovered this site sooner and saw the option to upgrade to 12W+

Beautiful saber and you clearly love the darkside shown by your collection of sabers lol.

Did you get quick connects installed? If so you can put a 12+ in later.

These batch of crossguards are not compatible with quick connect LED, so the etsy product listing says.

Anyway. that gives me an excuse to get another one in the future. kek.

why is it darker toward the tips/top of the blade like that? Great looking saber though!

The blades light up using an LED placed inside of the hilt. As I'm sure you've noticed in real life, things get darker the farther you are from them. The tip of the blade is farther from the LED than the base of the blade, hence the effect you see here. I'm sure I've oversimplified it a little, but that's how I understand it.

Right! But it seems uneven in the pic so I was just a little curious. Thanks!

Does anyone know when they plan on bringing this saber back? I plan on getting a saber in February, and this is the one I truly want to get a champion edition of.

My friends and I are putting together a script for a lightsaber fight short movie we'll be doing in a couple months, and this saber is vital to that!

This saber was on Saberforge's limited edition run on Etsy. Only 100 (correct me if I'm wrong) were made. I'm not sure how well this saber did but sometimes it'll be awhile before a saber is pulled into the main line. I'm pretty sure Phil said that this hilt will be available during the ASP launch. So maybe this or the next month?
And I look forward to seeing your videos. ;)

Burns3558,
**Anybody know how to weather the leather grip so it used/worn?
I don't own any wrapped Hilts so cannot accurately say whether it's genuine leather, quality/grade or faux. If you do some searching on YT specific to weathering/distressing leather goods i.e. belts, jackets, handbags etc. acetone seems to be a regularly used option.

It's primary application is to remove the dyes and breakdown the oils in the hide. Most of these applications have you isolate the material as part of site-prep. You then wring the leather (like a towel), distress it against abrasive surfaces and repeat until desired effect is achieved.

Since the wraps are secured to the Hilt rather than attempting to remove it then to experience difficulty with securely reattaching it I'd say proceed with caution. You could attempt surface discolouration with spot-application of paint/polish or even dry-brush. Acetone you'd want to apply sparingly as to not penetrate the (possible) adhesives used when bound to the rear-grip. Still isolate the section and shield-off the other areas. Good luck with this venture of yours.
