Great success!

It really is an exciting time to be a saber enthusiast. The diversity in design among the massive number of pieces just upon launch is mind blowing! (Is it strange the female/female coupler thrills me? lol) I can only imagine where the ASP system is going to go. Oh can I imagine....
May the Force serve you well.

What's most exciting to me is that this is just the 1st step for the ASP program. There are so many interesting places it can go and so many fantastic designs that will be available. The ASP parts designer, ThomasSnyder, has been teasing things like Mace Windu, Corran Horn, graflex, Asaj Ventress, parts for ASP over the last month and the anticipation is almost unbearable!

A little over a day left with 700K looking like a strong possibility, yes 7x the original goal. I knew we would see a bump in the last week but this is awesome. Don't stop until every home has one!

This is what is saving my sanity. For a long time I felt I jumped the gun by spending a lot on my first order during the memorial day Sale to get the freebies. I later felt I should've waited for ASP. Had I not made that order, I would've pledged a considerable amount, but I simply can't afford that now and this got me feeling pretty down. But the fact that this is only the first stage in a long term project, when I do have some more cash next year, there will be a lot more choices to upgrade my saber.

Wild Speculation Time

Today the Kickstarter will probably net $60k-$80k, tomorrow before it ends maybe $20k-$30k so potentially we'll end at $700k-$730k.

This Kickstarter (and the Archon) is literally my last saber hurrah for the next 9 months to a year. I have a kid due in four weeks, I'm taking a leave from work to finish my Masters and will be a house husband for about 3 months before jumping into my research fulltime in the Spring w/o working a fulltime job. I can definitely relate to what you're experiencing. I'll be able to afford the random ASP part but no full sabers for awhile.....

You are making an investment in the future of yourself, and your family, The sabers, and the ASP parts will be here when your education allows you to earn enough to buy the Star Wars franchise from Disney, let alone the odd saber here and there. B)

I've thought about it a lot, but the reality is that I'm still waiting on two sabers to be built and arrive in hand. If SF actually handled things a little differently I would have probably jumped on the Kickstarter. But there is a bit of a sting when you order from the main site, then find about Etsy later... and see people posting their sabers that they waited weeks for and not months.
