I have to empathize with you on this one. You want to feel that the item you sent in was handled delicately and repaired professionally. I get it. That would bother me too. My Monarch is in with them right now and I'm a bit nervous. I have heard a lot of good stories too. It sounds like you managed to get the black neck glue issue resolved, but I could see where the imperfection in the brass would bother you.

If it's any consolation, the exterior of my saber was in exactly the same condition I sent it in whenI got it back. I could identify two minor scratches on it, and I remember giving it both.

EDIT: Space missing... I'm just gonna leave it.

It will. I have had one in twice for repairs and I was so anal retentive I took pictures before I sent it off. Honestly, there was nothing to worry about and both times it came back in excellent condition. I found an average of about a 10 day turn-around time, but your mileage may vary. Plus, the communication I received was excellent. Soon, you will be reunited!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Their seem to be a few exalted issues as of late. Hopefully it will get straightened out, I'm sure it will.
