Hi all,

Hi guys and gals,

I said I would design more and I have continued a continuing theme around here and created a Saber for a Super Heroine,
I present the

CAT'S CLAW

I describe the Saber as having,

Cats Eye Green blade.
Cats whiskers and eyes emitter.
Catwoman waistline Switch
Catwoman leather trousers grip.
The Cat's Claw pommel.(Think of the steel tips on her gloves)

The Saberparts link is here (The Cat's Claw)

I hope you like it and onto the next one...

For Tyeth

This would also be a perfect candidate for a lightwhip!

Just to clarify we can't use SaberForge Lightwhip blade attachments with Sabers that have Clawed or Slanted emitters, but thank you for your comments,

Well you could, but you'd very quickly end up ruining a fine SF product. ;)

I'm new arround here, so i thought that this would be the perfect place for asking for opinion and advise about my asp saber. I did (and still do) a lot of thinking on this 'cos i don't think that i could buy more parts than the estrictly necesary. So, the thing is, i'm aiming towars a saber that is not light side nor darck side, grey jedy or so. Also somthing that could be made from improvised parts, or that has that practical "savage" or "scavenge" style. I thought a lot about the leght of the hilt (like A LOT). I wasen't really sure about what would be the recomended leghts so i improvised based on what i was looking for. A not so long hilt, mostly for one handed but that could perfectly be used for two hands without using the extra leght of the pommel, also if i could i would rather not use the switch as a grip. So i came along various solutions:

http://www.saberparts.com/#/configure?code=4.117.1.0-3.80.1.37-2.59.1.0-1.14.1.0

this is the actual that i like the most:

I have added a few designs. I really like the Vigilant emitter and have my design constructed with 2 different switches. The listed switch is the Venom and the other pic is shown with "Switch 10"

Pics of the sabers in question:

Well you second design has the most usable area for your hands, the first one feels like it was made with scavenged parts the most, and the third is a nice middle ground.

Plus take the length measurements with a grain of salt, especially when you add a blade to the builder. It adds the blade length to the overall saber length from the tip of the longest part of emitter, not taking into account whether or not it has claws or how deep it sets in the emitter, which can be as little as 0.5" for thin necks or as much as 3" with the windowed sabers (Viper/Venom, Epoch).

Looks good, and couldn't you just buy the lightwhip blade after the fact?

As far as WW using a sword, I can't claim to have seen her do so, but I don't follow her closely, so I am no authority on the subject.

Yeah she does use a sword. In fact it looks like she'll be doing so in the new movie.

This one, the second one that Jaden pictured, this really jumped out at me. Awesome design.

Yep

My only experience has been with the fighting game Injustice (made by the studio that does Mortal Kombat), where she could switch between weapons; with the whip she was faster, had a better reach, and could fly, while with a sword and shield she was grounded, slower, but had better defense.

Hi Darth Vexing,

You can buy the Lightwhip separately but this screen grab taken from the ETSY website shows the warning highlighted in the red box.

So there are real world limitations to the Lightwhip, which I thought I should point out.

kind regards,

For Tyeth

Yes, I understand that due to the comparative delicacy of the lightwhip you would need to use an emitter style that wouldn't snag it, like the Gladius' for example.
I was suggesting the lightwhip in amber as that would be about as close as you could get (lightsaberwise) to WW's golden/magic lasso.

Hi all,

To Eddlyss64,

I'd like to try and add to the strain on your wallet with my next offering, I recall your One Piece efforts at three saber wielding, and designed a possible third hilt for you.

In Standard Finish

Or the Stealth Black Finish

I hope it meets with your approval,

Ooh, pretty! I'd have no problem cutting up One Piece's villains with that sucker. Problem is, it looks wicked heavy. The saber I tried (and failed) in my mouth was a really cheap carnival prize that I snagged at a carnival I was working (it was the only one with a straight red blade, the others were multicolored seizure inducing. But what was good was that it was light. Unless I trained my neck muscles to hold a sword like Zoro, I'd have some troubles keeping my head straight.

From a dual wielding perspective however, I love this. You are a saber-designing genius, For. I want it soo baaad...

So I don't have a name for mine because I am terrible at naming... But I am stuck between two bodies. Here is the first one:

Relic Pommel
Reliant Body
Dark Blue Leather
Venom Switch
Dissident Emitter
Deep Blue
Blade 32''
Hilt 1' 0.3"

And here is the second one, with a longer body that I am leaning towards getting:

Parts
Relic Pommel
Dissident Body
Dark Blue Leather
Venom Switch
Dissident Emitter
Led 12W+
Deep Blue
Blade 32''
Hilt 1' 1.5"

Is 13.5 inches too long? I want to be able to hold it with two hands but if I want to hold it with one I don't want it to feel too big. Using a tape measure and my Force FX TPM Obi-Wan as a reference, the 12.3 inches seems okay, but it just looks small in the saber builder.

Any thoughts?

(If I come up with a name I will post it!)

Don't mean to be the guy that quotes his own post... but as great as the saber builder is, I would have loved an option where instead of having the standard/black/silver/or weathered finishes, I could have chosen a "reversed" finish. Because my emitter and switch piece are black with silver "trimmings", having the Relic pommel black with silver lines through it would have made these look complete. Is there a way to do this or are we stuck with what we got? It's no issue if I can't because I think my designs looks great as it is, but it would look so great if I could

Here's a very sleek and simplistic design I thought would be good for all you twirlers out there. I configured it with four different colour schemes. Let me know if you like it, or if it's just too basic.
