So my parts arrived today, and I just wanted to briefly share the (almost) final product. Here's what I saw in the builder:

I ended up having a few minor problems. First of all: alignment. It took me foreeeever to properly align the parts, even with shims and thread tape. I brute forced it through trial and error and finally got everything aligned to my satisfaction. Secondly: The plug ended up being too long. Right now I have an old plug in the emitter, but I will eventually get the new one cut to fit. Lastly: there was no dummy switch, so I currently have in open hole in the saber.

I'm also waiting on the deep red LED modules to arrive in the store, so for now, the saber is blue. I'm rushing out the door now, but I'll try to post some further thoughts later.

Is it a Champion or warrior tier? If you can't quite get the parts lined up the way you want with the shims, you can lightly sand (using circular motions) the female ended parts to get smaller increment changes. And if you're waiting on the SF photo (deep) red LED, I have a XP-E photo red LED I'm trying to get rid of (sorry for the shameless plug ).

Tell me a little more about the XP-E LED. I may be interested, but as I'm totally new to this thing, I'm not looking to do any soldering myself.
