So I was finally watching TLJ on blu ray yesterday, and it allowed for putting it on pause when young Kylo is using his blue lightsaber. From what I can see, it looks a lot like the main part of his black/sith version afterwards. How do you like it ? And I was wondering if anyone knew if in the new ASP part there would be what's necessary to build one, or if this version was in the plans of SF ?

Thanks ! :silly:

Becoming a big Kylo Ren fan after TLJ also meant that I became a much bigger fan of his lightsaber and how he designed it. I really dig the design, I feel like I captures the essence of the OT with the vented pommel and various grooves while still looking like something straight out of SWTOR. I also really dig how he was inspired to salvage his kyber crystal (presumably damaged during his attempt to make it 'bleed') by adding a crossguard that isn't really a crossguard.

Me personally, if I didn't know that SF will eventually release the Vanguard, then I would be hoping and praying that they would do a Ben Solo inspired design.

Hello Kazemichi, Master Eddlyss,

I like the story behind the Kylo Ben (see what I did there? :D ) saber. As Master Eddlyss knows I like sabers with a history behind them that makes sense in the film. The fact that this saber is damaged and then salvaged is great.

And regards to SF and if they will produce a Ben Solo padawan hilt that would probably depend on how popular it becomes. If it is worthwhile for them "designing" one then they will.

But if they don't I have just been looking at a nice recreation of the hilt seen in TLJ from another source, but it is only on Pre-Order and out of my price range had I been after buying one.

Ben Solo's saber is sweet, I'm in the process of getting a 3D printed one from Revenant Armory. The saber is definitely supposed to be the same one as the Kylo Ren saber, he just added the side vents and did some other mods when he put the cracked red crystal in it.

Korbanth announced it yesterday about a Ben Solo hilt.

Phoenix Props "The Light" looks amazing.

Wish I could afford their v1 crossguard, but 1500€ is a bit out of my comfort range for price on an empty saber.

Yeah, so far it's Pheonix Props and Korbanth with announced runs for "installable" hilts. There's a handful of 3D printed ones out there though if you just want a nice looking static display piece.

Even $500 for an empty kylo ren "the light" hilt is a heck of a lot. Most I've ever spent is $300 on an empty and its true what they say you get what you pay for

It's definitely true that you get what you pay for. It sounds like a lot of money but what is the cost of materials? How about time spent to measure, draft and get all pieces ready for machining. Then the machining process. Then the fit and finish. This is a limited run where you're paying for someone's time and skill. Not just a mass produced product. Also, some runs such as my Ultimate Works Count are stainless steel and not aluminum. Solo's Hold Force Witch is quite a high cost as an empty as well. It's all relative to time and process. How much value do you put in your own skill in terms of time taken ro create something?
We can't all afford to drive Ferrari's and Lambos, but some can; same goes with end sabers.
