Most of SF designs have a "quick connect" option, where connectors are added on the wires leading to the LED unit, making it easy to swap it out with another unit of the same wattage. However, the thin-neck designs employ a different method for installing the LED, which would require the emitter to be removed in order to change out the LED, which would void the warranty.

So, when ordering a thin-neck design, be sure you have made the choice in wattage, and color that you really want!

Bear in mind that it is not impossible. Just something that probably should not be attempted by folks without some knowledge of the inner workings of these things. There are many folks out there that do things like that (for a fee of course), so depending on your willingness to pay a little extra for the service, and locating one of the "specialists" around here who have the expertise to do it, you can get exactly what you are looking for.
