I would suggest emailing them or sending them a message on facebook. would be the best option, as with them shipping out 200ish sabers a week, they might not want certain modifications going onto the Etsy list

They can definitely do an all black grenade section, just request that in your order comments. The holes for the covertech knob are predrilled so that can't be removed, but you can fill the hole with a decorative button head screw or other 8-32 size screw. Not sure about installing the D-ring. It used to be an option on their website to have either a covertech or D-ring, but the D-ring was scratching up the finish on the saber by banging around and it wasn't a very popular choice with customers, so they removed it as an option. So as supercookster said, sending them an email to see what's possible would be a good idea

Looks like I will get a test run on this.
My son ordered an Epoch last night, mainly because he wanted the current version before it went away. He loves the saber, but wanted a little highlighting in black done. So, on the "Notes" section, I asked if the shroud could be colored black, which would make for some nice contrast in the middle section of the hilt. He has not yet responded as to whether or not this can be done, but given the feedback here, I think we stand a pretty good chance of getting just what we asked for. |

My Fury's blade seems a little wobbly at times too, but it's never anything that makes me think, "Oh dang, I need to get this looked at and/or fixed." But mine is very minor and it probably stems from the fact that when doing swordplay of any kind, I'm used to have a Broadsword or Bastard Sword in my hand, not a lightsaber. Haha

bringing up your customization request in your order comments just to confirm if it's something they can do, you'll definitely get an answer faster that way. Since they have an 8-10 week lead time on website orders it's doubtful that they'll even look at your order or your order comments for at least another few weeks, lol, whereas Phil responds to emails every few days or so.
For what it's worth, I've seen other Epochs with custom black anodizing and they've looked amazing, so I imagine that SF can do what you've requested. |
