Not sure what's going on. Usually the blade plugs slide out with a simple tilt into my palm. I have tried swapping blade plugs with another sf saber and I get the same stuck blade plug. So this happens for 2 of my sabers.

It takes some effort to remove the blade plug by having it fall out.

I have been storing my sabers in the sf case. The Templar doesn't seem to have this problem. Main emitter on it is not as deep as my Monarchs.

I tried brainstorming what it could be. Maybe the inner diameter of the emitter got dirty by my use of removing the blade plug and swapping it with a blade. My blades are kept in a corner of my room.

So, I have been storing my hilts with the blade plugs far out enough for me to get with my fingertips. I keep the blade retention screwed in so the blade plug doesn't get deep enough.

Any ideas on what I can do to get my sabers back to blade plug ease?

To clarify, you are getting a stuck blade plug on one saber with different plugs, or multiple sabers with one plug?

I've had a similar problem but not just isolated to blade plugs. As improbable as it sounds I have concluded that the polycarbonate experiences temperature sensitivity and experiences 'gentle' warping influenced by room temperature and how they are stored.

Try, with hilt inverted so emitter facing downwards, use a small headed soft bristle toothbrush and gently brush the inside of the blade holder. Anything foreign that may contribute to insertion tightness will be dislodged and rather falling onto the lens falls out onto whatever surface you're working over. Additional to this 'site-prep' gently sand (up to) the socket depth relative to the blade/plug with a fine-grit paper to reduce the OD by a whisker.
Regardless if plugs are clear or opaque it's up to you how blemished the surface is for acceptance. Usually emitters with windows an opaque plug will filter shine-through more effectively reducing the 'bleeding' effect when compared to clear poly.
With the 'slightly reduced' OD, inserting and removing blade/plug becomes effortless. :)

Have you tried taking out the retention screw completely, even though it is a pain to put back in?

Multiple sabers with the blade plugs of my sabers.

Yes. The Monarch has a knob on the retention screw. Still issues with the blade plug still on, retention screw out, and an effort to loosen the blade plug via assisted gravitational drop (downward onto pillow, then down on carpet, then downward plastic mat on said carpet). Putting an effort to pound the emitter into my palm gave me a cut. Thats why I was using softer, less dent-able surfaces.

By the time I realized what I was doing, I thought it might be a good idea to just leave the retention screw fully flushed in the emitter and just leave the blade plug partially exposed for me to take out manually.

You can never be too careful. I've just come back from taking 30 teens on a camp and I was amazed at the number of things I had to explain, that I thought were just common sense.
Love the video though!
