Something else that has been going on since these login issues started, every thread I leave a reply in becomes subscribed so that my e-mail account is filling up with all of the automated notifications of replies there. Anybody else seeing this?

Unknown to where the glitch originated from however to correct it:

  1. Go to 'My Profile'
  2. Edit Profile
  3. Forum Settings
  4. Select Subscription as default
  5. Dropbox select NO
  6. Save & Exit

I just heard from the webmaster again. He said he put the site on lockdown for a few minutes, while he upgraded the login module. Now that it is complete, he asks that we try things out and report back on the status of logins.

Just tried logging in, and was unable. Also tried to login in through mine, and a moderator profile. Didn't work either so had to request password reset to login.

I heard back from him again. The upgrade of the login module did not solve the issue. He will continue to attempt a fix, but the site might be intermittently unavailable while he troubleshoots the issue.

Ric (webmaster) found a redundant cache turned on that he thought might be causing the problem. He turned it off, and cleared the cache. Hopefully, we are good now.

Yes it did. I am just not sure why it was necessary. That had never happened to me, and yet others reported that it has been with them the whole time. I will keep an eye out for a default that can ensure that the setting does not start that way for new users.

I can't report that I am no longer having login issues (as I didn't have any in the first place) I did however experience the thread subscription issue. On the plus side (major plus) nestled in amongst those notifications, was a MUCH better one. I got my "shipped" email from Saber Forge.
I am chaos in order's guise.
