What's your evidence that it will be considered Canon? I thought that question was asked and they were told it was not. I think there was one public Q&A where someone spoke out of turn and said it was but that was later rebutted.
I played SWTOR for about a 2.5 years, been on and off for the last 2 years. Honestly I unsubbed when I saw the details on the latest expac. It seems like it's just shoving a single player RPG into an MMO with a story that's Star Wars-esqu but not really Star Wars. Overall I think where EA/Bioware failed with SWTOR is they tried to make a game that caters equally to single player RPG players and MMO players. Those are dramatically different target audiences with dramatically different priorities. In trying to cater to both they didn't do either side well. They would have been better severed making KOTOR III or SWTOR or both but having them be separate games. Overall I did enjoy my time with SWTOR and would considering coming back if I had friends to play with or the developers show signs of a clear and consistent direction. |

Played when it first came out and got bored after a few months as it was just too repetitive. Got hooked back into it with the 12x xp boost which basically lets you ignore the common quests and focus on the story, which is pretty damn good, especially for the Sith Inquisitor. I find the story interesting enough to keep me coming back.
I'm sure the xp boost ticks off players who did it the hard way, but their marketing team knows what they are doing as they got me to sub and I've even spent a little cash in the cartel. I personally am looking forward to the new expansion! Also looking forward to the rumored new open world RPG that EA is starting up with the production lead from the Assassin's Creed series... |

Yes the story from all of the Sith side are fantastic. I last left off with only the Smuggler and Consular left but the story is what I'm itching to finish.

The new expansion is the main reason I am hanging on. I have played fairly steady since just after launch, and while it has been good, in its current form, for me it had just about run its course. I hate saying that about ANYTHING related to Star Wars, but that is the truth in this case. I hope it turns out to be the game-changer they are promising, and I am willing to give it the time needed to find out. All I can say is that if City of Heroes was still around, that is where I would be, game-wise that is.

I don't have any specific evidence other than what I've been told personally by friends who work for LucasFilms, and the fact that it was stated a long time ago that anything released before TFA would be canon. However, my friends are known to be major teases, but I have heard a lot that this expansion is bringing everything back into the canon side of things. I guess we will just have to wait and see. |

I wonder what is it about the expansion that warrants a possible Canon induction. The mere fact that Bioware has fantastic story telling? Or maybe something lore related? Either way that would be pretty good news, especially because TOR is played by a lot of people. And may even draw some back.

It's rumored that the reason for it is that Andy Serkis' character draws inspiration from Valkoran, the Eternal Emperor.
