Haha! you are right. Exile is in the ASP. that means it'll be sticking around. Sorry for the oversight on that one!
if I order the exile from etsy, can I contact the customshop of SF to do a few customizations for me? The customizations aren't huge or difficult. I just wanted the body to be the high-polished silver finish instead of the anodized black, and then I was going to see if they can put a black leather ito (samurai katana) wrap over the body. Man, that would look awesome, you think they would/can do that? I would pay of course if needed.

Definitely, shoot them an email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and they'll get ya taken care of no problem. That all sounds entirely doable (at least to me...) haha
So they will? Even if its from etsy? And how does getting the customshop to do stuff to your saber work? Do you buy the saber THEN contact the shop? Or do you contact them before? And how would they know which saber is yours?

Seems like a lot of anxiety in one post... lol. BREATHE MAN.

Contact the customs shop, they can tell you WAY more about their processes than I can.

How it's working right now (subject to change)
1. Contact the shop w/your commission
a. I format mine like this:
Good ______,
Would it be possible to commission a saber w/these specifications:
Model:
Tier:
Customizations:
Finish:
LED:
Blade:
Attachments w/pics if you have pics
2. They contact you after several days w/requesting clarification or giving you a quote.
3. You say "yes" or "no" to the quote.
4. You're sent an invoice via email.
5. Send $ to Paypal account.
6. Wait for construction.

This is how this process is working this week. Since this custom shop is relatively new this may change in the near future.

I'm in the same process right now, and it's pretty much exactly what we've been doing. Just sent them a picture to give them some of the ideas in a visual form, and now I wait to see what they come back with, and we start figuring it out from there. :)

A custom Disciple for my wife's Christmas present.

I'm asking for a quote on doing a gloss black powercoat on the body of the hilt, dark purple leather wrap on the grip, silver / purple inlay on the grooves, and a bit of silver edging along the mouth of the emitter / shroud.

The guts will be an Indigo 12W+ LED, black AV switch, and a Crimson soundboard.

Sorry about that, its just that this would be my first saber. My ASP preorder won't come till Feburuary, so if I bought this saber now it would get here before and therefore be my first saber.

I've decided to pull the trigger, I'm gonna buy the exile before they're all gone. I'm thinking of getting it as an empty hilt. Although, does anybody know if the exile from Etsy is ASP compatible? I was going to buy the electronics (ASP, of course) next month separately and put them in myself. But do these hilts have that capability? I'm not that tech-savy but I think I can easily figure out the ASP system

Hard to say if the current Exile is ASP compatible. I would ask the etsy shop directly about it. If you miss out on the etsy exiles you'll still be able to build one through ASP. The issue is whether you'd be able to move around the internals of the Exile to install the parts are glued together.

Yes, the Exile is ASP compatible. All sabers released/updated since last Fall are all ASP compatible (with the exception of the Bane and Archon... but even the Archon has the same threading on the pommel.)

All of our sabers (in fact, most all hilts in general that you can drop a 12MM switch in) will be compatible with the ASP electronics kits.

To add to this, it's not actually necessary to take the hilt apart to install the kits. You can run the wire for the switch up through the switch hole, plug the switch in, then put the switch in place, then put the LED in, then the battery pack in the bottom... all without taking anything but the pommel off. People are REALLY underestimating the easyness of these kits.

I have to admit that's pretty exciting. I didn't think it was going to be hard, really, but that's even easier than I expected.

Perfect! Everything I wanted to know, I'm gonna buy an empty hilt (that's all I can afford right now) and then buy the electronics once they're listed next month.
When I have both in my possession I'll ask the forum how to do the install since I have no experience, but I would like to learn. I hope its easy

Knytiri, I have a question that has probably already been answered but worth asking anyway. If I remember correctly Bane's aren't ASP comparable for the electronics right?
