I don't know what you're talking about, VR is booming. With the Oculus rift rumoured to be releasing this year, and tons of new VR and AR products being released or announced (HoloLens, Myo, Leap something) VR is going to be crazy big in the next few years

Fair enough. I was basing my impression on the fact that I hadn't heard anything in years. Totally willing to believe that only means I haven't been listening.

Ahhh Jedi Academy... that takes me back.

I remember that being one of the first games that I stayed up literally all night playing. Beat it over many times choosing different lightsabers when you build your own, then when I found out you can kill your buddy and go dark side...

Of course, I played it on the max difficulty at the time but then years later I tried playing it and was just like wtf, this is impossible, how did I play it like this before?!?!

Also, TFU and SWTOR rule.

Never touch TFU for DS. I'm pretty sure it's poisonous.

Many of those are in the bundle linked in the OP. Is SWTOR really pay to win, or is it more along the lines of STO (most of the things you can buy are cosmetic or conveniences, but don't give you a significant edge)? I haven't played since Beta. Might have to give it another try.

I personally had a good time with FU on the Wii, but I think a lot of that had to do with it being on the Wii. I'm not expecting to love the PC version nearly as much.

Reading "Jedi Academy was one of the first games I played all night" makes me feel very old indeed. I'm pretty sure my first all-nighter was Super Mario Bros. 3.

I remember when my dad and I got the X-Wing collector's edition CD-ROM. We were kinda dumb and didn't realize that it would require a CD drive, so we went out to a little hole-in-the-wall computer shop the next day and bought one to install in our old 486/DX. Then we tried to run it and realized we needed a RAM upgrade. That's how we learned to always read the sys reqs.

Oh man, I'm trying to save up my money to upgrade my saber! Why'd you have to show me this? D: Oh well, I guess I'll just have to take even longer to save up. XD I used to own FU on the Wii, and I still have FUII on the Wii. FUII is not that great of a game, but I've played worse. I have FU: Ultimate Sith Edition on Steam, I don't remember how long I've had it. Besides that, I don't any of the games they've got in the bundle. I haven't really played any of them either.

I played one of the KOTOR games, I forget which, to the point when you first encounter the Rakghouls. I was a lot younger and they scared the crap out of me, so I stopped playing. I was playing it at a friend's house anyway, so I never picked it up again. Now I wish I had. :C I also played a couple of the Jedi Knight games, but only a tiny bit. One of them I played multiplayer with some friends, but I forget which game it was. The other one I played a demo of on someone's PC. There was this cheat that made the lightsaber work like a real lightsaber. It made killing the enemies really easy. I used a force throw on some Stormtroopers and they collapsed into a pile of body parts. I was really surprised.

At least Humble Bundle is PWYW!

I wouldn't really recommend Swtor. It's really pay to win and there's a lot of stuff you can do without forking over money every month. As a Star Wars game, it's alright, as an mom, it's not very good. If you want a Star Wars game you can find something a lot more fun, and if you want an mom is suggest Guild Wars 2, which is absolutely free to play once you buy the game.

And I don't think gamers should support a business model that sucks for the players.

Yeah, I don't think you understand that concept correctly. At no point in SWTOR do you have the opportunity to pay real money for something exclusive to cash payers that makes your character more powerful than someone who can't pay money. Everything for cash is either convenience, appearance, or new content. Don't want to pay a singe red cent? Don't have to! Earn credits, buy content unlocks through the in-game market. SWTOR's player numbers actually increased and have stayed steady since the free to play transition two years ago. If it was a bad system, EA wouldn't have seen massive revenue increases over pure subscription models.

It's not about being more powerful, it's about having access to anything! If you don't pay a subscription almost all of the game functions are unavailable: restrited access so pvp, restricted access to dungeons, restricted access to operations, restricted access to starfighter, restricted amount of credits, can't send messages to other players, can't customize your HUD or your character, and so on! This game is a pain in the ass for those who were used to pay and decided to try the free to play mode (just like I did)! Right now I'm still playing with my brothers, but I pay a subscription so I can enjoy the game!
