To start with both are classic, the Redeemer as it was Old Ben Kenobi's but I started buying sabers (albeit plastic ones!) when Return of the Jedi released so seeing Luke's Green saber was so different I just loved it and the blade colour, so I like the Prodigal Son. But if someone was to give me a Redeemer I wouldn't say no! For Tyeth PS I wouldn't turn down an Exalted either! |

Awesome! I really love the Prodigal Son too, but the Redeemer might take the cake for me. Both sabers have that classic look that just screams Star Wars! And even if someone has never seen a Star Wars before they would still be able to distinguish these as lightsabers; beautiful designs they are.

I am a sucker for the grenade grip where the horizontal grooves intersect with the vertical (silver accents or not). The Redeemer is solid black without the accents. Thumbs up cos it's Obi's Saber.
Prodigal Son has a similar grenade but with just horizontal grooves only with silver accents. This Saber is iconic & known as Luke's ROTJ. Thumbs up as a very recognisable character and hilt to match. Hands-on as a must have cos everyone relates (or wants to) in some way or another. To choose one over the other? hard call as both have equal measure of value and significance and aesthetically equal also. Assumingly standard finishes, brass neck versus copper= much of a likeness. Faced this very dilemma myself not too long ago. Couldn't decide one over the other. I went both  . What will you do?

Haha this is honestly one of the toughest descisions I've made about a purchase in a long time. All the Thin-necks are all so frickin awesome, it's so hard to decide! Each one has its own special characteristics that make it unique to one another. Luke's ROTJ saber is timeless and will never go out of style (in fact neither would EP3 Obi-Wans either). But at the end of the day I think it would come down to which one makes me feel the best and when I pick it up it gives me a smile on my face.

I went for the Exhalted simply because it was a thin-neck with no control box, which tends to get in the way when dueling. However, when it comes to sheer sexiness, The Redeemer would take it, followed closely by the Prodigal Son. Someday, I hope to own all three, but since my saber budget is somewhat limited, I had to go with the most practical that had the features I wanted.

I ordered the Exhalted... I think the Redeemer and Prodigal Son are works of art. Love the way the activation box looks on them.. However, if you are planning to duel and learn how to handle the saber (like I will be doing ) The Exhalted is more friendly for that since it doesn't have an activation box, therefore, it wont cut you and it would be easier to spin the saber and better grip... NOTE: The Exhalted standard was recently changed. The thin black neck piece next to the brass is now copper like the Redeemer. I think that makes the Exhalted even better looking
At the end of the day,,, between those 3, you can't go wrong good luck!!

I love all three of those sabers. I would be hard pressed to pick between the Redeemer and the PS. The exhalted is great but I think it was purposely designed to be like the PS yet w/o the activation box so it is more streamlined for dueling. I think that was an awesome idea and I'd have to choose it if that was the only saber I were to buy out of the three and needed a saber I could duel with.
Because I'll have a dueling saber (My first order was the Epoch and its on its way) I would choose one of the first two instead. I think I would lean more toward the Redeemer because I just revere Obi-wan so much. If I were to get a saber to represent Luke i'd have to go with the old school Graflex. I plan to get a good Graflex once Saberforge gets the ASP system going live and I can order the parts for it. The Redeemer is definitely on my "to buy" list for the future. I can't wait to own it. |

The Activation box is the one gripe I have about the Redeemer and the PS which is pushing me away from them. Now would it be completely uncomfortable/ unusable (hands cut up and scratches) for dueling because of the activation box? Haha this is just too hard because they're all so damn beautiful! Wish I could've won that Powerball.

They all look cool in their own ways. I originally though the Exhalted looked best. I now intend to collect them all, but substitute the upcoming Protector with the Redeemer (these two hilts seem to look nearly identical).

I believe the upcoming 'Protector' is based off of ANH Obi-wan and the 'Redeemer' is based off of ROTS Obi-wan, personal I prefer the EP3 saber.

Hands down the Prodigal Son is the best in my opinion. Ever since i saw Luke ignite that saber back in 83 i've loved it! An ode to his two mentors--patterned after Obi-Wan's hilt, Yoda's green colored blade--truly an exquisite classic saber! When i stumbled across Saberforge's Prodigal Son i had to have it. All of the thin necked sabers are cool but the PS is tops for me!

I would have to say the exalted for the simple fact that it lacks the activation box. Personally I am not nearly as emotionally attached to either of Luke's or Obi Wans thin neck sabers, I am more pronged to thinking of the Graflex or Avenger when I think of them.
