So this is probably gonna seem like a stupid question but..where are the empty hilts on the etsy store? or is it a case of requesting them?

I can't speak about the SF hilt directly, but I have a Hasbro TPM Obi Wan saber and it is fantastic for spins, flourishes, and all of that good stuff! Since the SF version will probably be a bit thinner and heavier, it seems like it will be even better for that! Of course, a lot of sabers here seem good for flourishing.

It seems like you're wary of dropping the saber. As long as you maintain a good firm grip on your saber this shouldn't happen. It has happened to me but only while dueling or tossing the saber.

its the tossing im worried about lol i think im just gonna bite the bullet and instead of getting a US saber, getting my warrior consular which A) has no soundboard to break if i did drop it and b) i was gonna be getting at some stage to complete my staff lol

Hi. Can't agree with you about the balance being the same with a toy version only lighter. You also have to factor in what kind of blade and length being used and where saber is gripped. Personally, I would never purposefully throw around my SF sabers even if they were stunt. Not that they couldn't stand a drop or more, but they are just too pretty and finely crafted for this abuse.

Regarding US. They build some workhorses that are made to withstand rough and tumble. So suggest getting the entry level hilts that are one piece and no attachments such as control box. The v2 - v4 series of the Aeon/Dominix or Initiates should work for you. The v2's have 2 blade screws. Suggest the heavy grade blades or better still, get some v4 SF blades with the screw tips. You can shave off the tip to round if a safety issue. Would check if either US or SF warranties cover potential damage for this kind of use. :)

I've now got a warrior consular on the way to complete my staff design, so i think for the first while i'll practice spins and flourishes with it..once i build up to throws etc ill probably invest in one of the cheaper US like the initiate V4 (i quite like the look of it) and i can get some confidence throwing with it first lol :) Thanks for your input :)

I have a prophecy v3. Its small and light weight so its good for twirling as you say. Just so you know it will scratch if you drop it on a ruff surface. It is a nice saber but a little plain. Hope that helps.
