Spark 2 isn't setup as a single-color + FoC board - it's a two-channel color mixing board. You can have *any* combination of the two channels for main blade and/or FoC.

Four LEDs to one channel is about the maximum you want to do. It's possible, HotRod'll vouch for it, but best practice is to split up the LEDs if you have the option. So for a 12W+ Green, yeah, two dies on C1, two on C2, and then just configure your color slider with C1 and C2 up to near-max, and you're good to go. Tinker with pulse etc at your whim.

Tackling MegaCon prep right now, along with a few other projects, but on my to-do list is an Exile with Spark2 and Green/Red 12W+ or GG/dRdR Quad-Rebel. That way I could swap the main blade between Green and Red at a flick of the wrist with a yellow FoC either way.

After reviewing this topic, I may rewire my setup to split the 12w+ amongst the two channels. What you are saying also makes sense. Thanks for the clarification so we can all learn here! :-)

With a Saberforge 12w+ purple LED, can you use the stock resistor(s) installed on the red LEDs for the Spark2? My plan is to wire the blue to C1 and red to C2 as shown in the Spark 2 manual.

Yup. Leave the SF LEDs with whatever resistors are or aren't on there, and just connect each negative lead to its own channel.

I was just checking to see if you had rewired your LED to the two channels. I wanted to know how you would be doing the quick connect for that setup? I plan on doing the same, but this would require 3 connection. I'm assuming I could just solder a micro deans for a single connection for the LED positive.

Your timing is impeccable. :-). I was up till 5am last night rewiring the board and I did split up LED to 2 Channels. I also wanted to change the length of wiringing and add more shrink in places. The trick was definitely to make sure no deans connectors were sitting next to the battery as that adds girth and makes for a tougher fit.

I am waiting on a new LED as I have decided to go either Medium or Arctic Blue. Once I get it I will decide what to do (Deans or no deans) on that 3rd wire. I was thinking about cutting a deans plug in half or just snipping the lead off . Not sure yet. More to come....

I was thinking about that, too. I got some plugs for putting LED lights in models that might work:

This Black Male to Male Connector:

matched with this Black Male to Female Connector:

they have 1 - 6A current ratings, are pretty small and can be cut off into singles.

I see where you are going there. That might work. I thought there had to be something out there for a single wire. Thanks!
