Right. So realistically, any attempts to remove just the SB and CT could possibly result with a loose outer shroud and even if I kept the screws in without the SB and CT, it'll likely become a snag point. With removing completely, then I'd be left with holes much like say a clawless Venom.
Is the SB actually an individual piece atop the shroud?
Obviously in practice will be different to in theory, but could you offer your thoughts if the following may be achievable:
I had hoped it could be requested upon ordering much like how it comes standard on DT Epoch, but unlikely. If I spray a rag (to prevent overspray if directly onto Hilt) and generously flood the accent lines, let dry, wipe off excess, then wipe over with acetone before cleaning and polish with buff-could that work to achieve the fill?

Well mate you've been asking,so here it is. Pommel screwed into sub hilt, & shrouds removed. The SB & CT don't have to be Incorporated if you can live with screws showing, & properly ground and fitted. As far a snag points with just screws,Idon't see that being an issue. Your idea for finnish seems sound and would likely work. when Justin suggested this type of finish I asked if Black was the only option, metallic copper would have been ideal my opinion, but black was the only color option at that

Thank you. Shut me down if I am asking too much, may I ask how secure the outer shrouds feel with screws only attached without the respective CT and SB on and how thick the screw-head's are that are left exposed?

I have no problem answering any of your inquiries mate. Without the SB or CT, the srews do just finei n securing the shrouds. Obviously there are some aesthetic issues and functionality. button head screw type or thumbscrew from TCSS might look better but you would have to grind down the screw size so it would not protrude into the body of the hilt. I'm considering using a red thumb screw and a black button head screw for that myself. I painted the SB gold but I still don't like the box aspect at that location on the hilt.

The aesthetics and functionality issues is where my queries stem from as eluded to when I referenced 'snag' point. I imagine attempts to create a further streamlined finish would be negated if I were to use thumbscrews as a sacrifice for appearance. Have always loved the red knurled TSs or even the stainless ones but doing so here will be out of place IMO.
However the shaved button-head screws may be a great compromise to accommodate more successfully the functionality and temper the aesthetics also.

Am exploring the probability of success with pairing Archon and Silver Knight, two hilts with minimal to no protrusions and with your feedback thus far, I am convinced it's very do-able even upon ordering and receipt as standard.

I agree with you about the SB. It was an equally shared concern of mine when looking at the Rebel, which has since been benched for now.

Thanks again. Timing to pull-the-trigger is the only indecisiveness now.

EDIT:
Have just perceived your TS as an alternate. I single would be just as effective replacing the original two (that are fed through the SB). Possibly mistaken, but I believe consistent to SK's black TS, it is for outer shroud securing only and not for blade retention. Mirroring this delivery on Archon as you intend may compliment the two (for me) more generously.

EDIT2:
I wonder whether swapping out the stock SB with a low profile switch-plate could work ;)

Here's that shot you had asked about. CT just laying there for perspective.

As suspected and imagined. That is too obtrusive for my liking.

A few days ago I went to Walmart in search of spa chemicals, found these for $2.90 & purchased 3.

After a brain fart in the hot tub, I got a ridiculous idea.

After fiddling around an hour or so, one old flash light reflector, a marble to diffuse the LED.

Then stuffed it all in the Pommel. This saber, as most of you know is empty, and is just a shelf queen at this point. However it now has a color changing pommel.

@=Ottomatix=, you brought up a metallic finish? You could look around your area and get Plating? Just a thought, I'm considering doing the same.

You sure it was a brain fart in the hot tub and not naturally occuring bubbles! jk. A good catch on the walmart to lit hilt idea!

Hah, SuUpberSith pH was good chlorine not too high, half an hour and a hundred and four degrees might have had something to do with it. Oh yeah I forgot here are the pictures!

=Ottomatix=,
First Rule of Hot-Tub, don't talk about Hot-Tub. There's updates to this WIP Thread, excellent 'light-bulb' moment Sir. Here I was anticipating the NeoChrome application to the finish yet you've thrown something else into the mix. The dedicated stand that you customised is a nice touch also. Colour scheme is a great compliment.
I dare say that you've MacGyver-Fu'd your very own Crystal Pommel. Actually, the term here should be that you've Ottomated it. Curious too, was the double Post to highlight the twice than ordinary brilliance that this concept spawned from?

OvrcAHst, Neochrome finish is still fantasy. My double post is due to my general lack of tech knowledge. Internet being hooked up today, here @ the new pad. Lov ing the memes BTW!

The odds of successfully doing so are approximately three thousand seven hundred twenty to one!
