Dual Tone Weathered Shadow Hunter 12Watt+ Deep Red

When there is a mysterious presence that becomes unwelcomed and they’re pounding at your door disrupting your Night, armed with this exquisitely designed weapon by your side, let the slaughtering begin.

What began as a ‘not my cup of tea’ soon become a preferred beverage of choice. Initial wonders were dismissed however became a must-have to an existing collection of Thin Necks, one that broke from SaberForges tradition of their Original Trilogy. The Standard DT and All Black Finishes were just meh to me and didn’t startle my interest let alone spark anything for capturing. With the random effects of the Weathered Finish I recognised some potential as Finish selection was the only real hurdle with acquiring this piece into my Collection. With that out of the way and LED Colour already decided before even selecting the Hilt, the steps that followed was simply methodical due process.

The Gladius Emitter was a favourable inclusion as it serves as a tsuba during wield and the experience heightened by the streamlined fluid design of the Body and Switch Parts. I was greatly disappointed when this was unboxed only with the Weathering Finish applied to it. The lines were sharp and too defined and took away from genuine-looking weathering and really just made the Hilt look like a primitive Saber knock-off. Sanding has become a regular friend and this application was exercised to soften the defined weathered lines. I may have taken it further than initially anticipated however am exceptionally happy with the completed result. DT Weathered and DT Black have become personal favourites.

Deep Red is such an extraordinary colour. There are some subtle differences compared to Medium Red but as everyone can attest to (much like trying to successfully capturing any colour on Camera as direct representation) it’s not so easily accomplished. I have always like the ‘standard’ Red and never dismissed it. If you too have felt this way, there is little reason why the Medium and Deep Reds won’t become your flavour also. If you’ve been used to seeing the standard Red, it is Red. Independently (at different times to allow eye adjustment and colour perception) Red is a bright Red and with advancing (or transitioning) to Medium and Deep, brilliance gradually reduces and the colour intensity becomes much richer as a result. These gradual variances though are still more generous than say a 6Watt Red. It is only after conducting comparisons either in quick succession or all ignited simultaneously, that standard Red looks Orange.

Comparatively, with the spectrum shifted, if Red: Blood Orange: Amber and now Deep Red: Medium Red: Red, BO seems to have been bumped.

Shadow Hunter is an awesome Hilt. With user-handling friendliness, balance and aesthetics, I might even say it edges over Exalted. Controversial I know (having two Exalted’s) but this is one definitely NOT to be overlooked.

Against Shadows (or an actual opponent) This one’s a Gem. Thank you.

What an awesome saber! Well done dude!
I got some news as well regarding my Redeemer and stuff. But I won't derail the thread at hand.

This thing looks awesome but the colour of the LED is unreal.
I wonder what it would be like in person.

I'm with Brax - what a great review! I'll look forward to any future reflections. :)

Shadow Hunter is an amazing looking hilt, and pictures don't really do it justice. Congratulations on a dual tone weathering version, or "light weathering" perhaps. Love that Gladius emitter turned thin neck, it offers strong contrast to the rest of the switch section and body.

Well done on another quick Etsy purchase!

Indescribable. If you've ever loved having a Red Bladed Saber, definitely not one to exclude.
Just get it, you know you want to. ;)
So... what's that supposed to mean? You drop a bomb hinting at your Redeemer (amongst other stuff) but don't elaborate on it. You could always just Post a friendly update in your actual Redeemer Topic. ;) That reminds me, I wanted to tell you something.. nevermind.

Well Good Sir, Pictures are just gonna have to do and consistently spammed. Only because... I don't do Videos like you.

Very different to the 'known' Thin Necks but as you would know, it is one that definitely grows on you. :)
