The Monarch's replacement is the Unleashed. It feels more comfortable to hold than the Monarch and while it is not as attractive to me as the Monarch, it is much nicer in real life than suggested by the photos.

Very curious about the review as well; despite it not being a bad-looking saber (and the fact that this way it's made more duel-worthy), I really loved the design of the old Monarch.
For a while I figured SF would keep the Monarch in Legacy form, but now that they've replaced that with this Unleashed as well, I am curious to see if this saber can grow on me. I think if they had made the switch section between the Graflex Emitter and the body with the grips somewhat smaller/thinner like on the old one, I wouldn't have had as much of an issue with it; the bulkier look on the emitter and sturdier body seem very nice after all, it's just because the middle section is also rather thick, it gives the saber less of an elegant look than with the old Monarch. |
