Ok, so a Champion-tier saber is about $400.
If I got everything separate it would be $150 (hilt) + about $225 (Champion level parts) = $375.

That would mean that saberforge only charges about $25 for labor to install everything.

Does that make sense to anyone? Is there an advantage for DIY install vs Saberforge install?
Thanks!

easy change for LED's and the such, tidy professional job, don't have to worry about damaging components with over heating or anything like that.

Personally I mostly see pro's with the PnP kits, for the extra dosh it's worth it imo

It's not that the labor only costs $25, but that most of the labor is already been taken into account when putting the plug-n-play kits together. The only real work left would alignment and plugging the electronics in.

If you throw out the PNP we are just talking total DIY, I can build a saber with ASP hilt, Spark2, custom LED, blade, everything, for between $250 and $350 depending on specifics. So it's cheaper to DIY, plus you get total customization. If we take it a step further and get raw MHS part, price drops even more, although I'd have to drill and tap holes myself.
