So from what I have been reading and understand it seems that the electronics are just free floating inside a saberforge saber and can rattle in combat. Is this true?

Also is there any commonplace housing solutions to remedy this? I'd love to have something like a tube within a tube that houses all of the electronics that would be easy to slide in and out for replacing parts or doing any needed work.

Absolutely! There are a few options, but I have not found a complete solution from a single source. What I mean is, Goth3Designs makes a slew of chassis for a range of hilts, including a nice selection for SF hilts. With this I still needed an adapter machined to hold the chassis in the switch section. This being done on 2/3 of my SF hilts.

Another option I'm having done now is an aluminum chassis with the adapter for the switch designed into the chassis, as well as a crystal chamber. It's a simpler look than a Goth chassis, but it's aluminum and that's not seen as often as Goth chassis are, so I'm really excited with this bespoke work that's being done.

I could not find a "common place" solution that didn't require additional work in order to complete a chassis install.

I'd be happy to learn that there is a quick and easy chassis solution for SF hilts!

Good luck!

TCSS had videos where Rob made an "interchangebale" chassis system, where it could be connected between multiple hilts.

Goth is working on a mount for SF switch sections, so that'll come down the road. It'll still require securing with drilling/screwing into the threaded sections though. You wont find a drop-in solution as there's nothing to secure to.

Wow I gotta say it's both encouraging and amazing to see so much support for custom lightsabers! It seems like goth3 will give me what I need in allowing to put my hero board into nice housing unit. Looks like some paint and additional work will be needed, but totally worth it. Also the pricing is extremely reasonable.

It would be cool to find a way to groove into the inside of ones hilt a slot system that would allow you to insert, twist and lock into place these items.... Something I will have to research and figure out.

Wound up using the screw in ASP Switch Style 8 to secure a chassis carved from 1" bladestock:

Those look pretty sweet. I would love to get detailed with it at some point, priority one is getting it to not shake or rattle around too much :)

The 18k gold one though for crystal housings sound boss

If the saber is installed by SF, they quite firmly wedge the boards in there by wrapping them in velcro strips. So they won't really rattle around. The PnP Kits are also quite snug, but you could get some up-down movement depending on long your body section is.

If you're installing the electronics yourself, then I would recommend using the 1.11 OD Goth chassis for w/e board you have. Like the PnP kits, they're fairly snug and you only get any up-down travel if depending on the length of the wires going to your switches. For those or the PnP kits, if you want to prevent movement you can always use a c-clip / snap ring to hold it in place.

also on top of this O-rings are your friend, most of my sabers have some sort of o-ring between the speaker and pommel.

That's a pretty good idea and might be cheaper as well. It's my first time doing all this so I'm open to trying different things :)
