2016 Gladiator 12w+ Arctic Blue.

The review before me here probably has better pictures and explanations. I'm simply going to post a few images I took and explain them a bit. First up some order details and dates. I'll work on this review a bit more when I get time and put up some better pictures and descriptions.

I placed my order on 10/30/15 I sent one e-mail afterward and upgraded to 12w+ on 11/06/15. E-mail communication was a little less than a week each way. I received a change of status E-mail from saberforge on 12/20/15 which contained a tracking number. That was my last E-mail from Saberforge. After that I've just been checking my tracking number. On 12/26/15 my package was updated to "Pre-Shipment". Finally on 1/12/16 It was accepted and is currently "In-Transit" status... Received my saber on 1/14/16.

Gladiator, Champion Edition
12W+ Arctic Blue LED, blue AV switch
Viridium Sound
Brown leather wrap
V4 32” Blade and VV Photon Blade
Emitter width: 1.75in/4.5cm
Body width: 1.375in/3.5cm

Quick note the pictures were taken out of box so the saber isn't fully charged.

The backdrop might not be super fancy but it's soft =O

I got the Gladiator because I thought the crystal chamber took it to a new level. I of course played SWTOR so this style jumped out at me.

The saber on the left is US just for a rough comparison.

If I had to be really nit picky and pick one thing I wasn't super excited about it would be the blade plug. I suppose I was expecting something fancier.

Here is what the LED's of Arctic blue look like shined at my wall.

Here is the Photon blade I ordered from VV.


This lets me have a green or blue option. It has a grainy quality that I'm not super fond of and is a lot lighter than V4 Blade. But for a quick and easy switch out It was a nice pick up.



This is my current way to display... I'm looking for different options.

Thats a very nice saber. How does the crystal chamber feel? Does it affect your grip at all?

I almost pulled the trigger on one of these as I love the extra bit that crystal chamber gives it. Only reason I didn't was I promised myself no new saber purchases till i get my first 3 from the ASP kickstsrter.

The crystal chamber doesn't effect anything but the groves by the switch a a tad sharp... I've been spinning it around just fine without doing anything to it yet though.

Damn that's sweet. I really like that crystal chamber look.

Strange about the apprentice blade plug, it definitely should come with the elite one. Unless SF has made a change we're unaware of, I'm sure it was just a mix up by the saber tech.

The crystal chamber edges are indeed a tad sharp, but I typically don't grip it there when spinning or dueling anyway so it's not a big issue (to me).

I luuuuuv that arctic blue! Definitely gonna have to get that on a future saber...

May I ask what finish your apprentice plug is in?
Silver or Dual Tone?
Can you take a pic of just the plug?

I really like the way you display it.

How do you like the Artic Blue ? Is it how you expected it to be ?

It's hard to take a picture of the actual look but in person there is a glow around the blade and it almost hurts to look directly at it. It is a shade darker in the middle than when captured on camera. The arctic blue is awesome. The only thing I have to compare it to is a US grab bag that is a different shade of blue. I am really impressed at how bright it is and I think the arctic blue was a good choice. If I buy another saber it is going to be really hard to pick another color. It's on the lighter side which I think gives it a real close appearance to movie sabers in person. I am interested in indigo, cyan, and red though...


The plug I believe is duel tone. I can put a picture of it up soon. Silver in the center black ring outer.
