So, I got my renegades in and did the install with two rB/R/W tri crees running on one NBv3. After a few snafus everything is working fine and I have a nice purple with a white FoC. However the second LED seems dimmer than the first. Its minor but noticeable, am I pushing my 18650 too hard?

I think you're pushing the board too hard. It's only rated for 2A iirc.

You really think so? I've run a cross guard saber with an NBv3 without an issue.

It depends on the amount of voltage going to the LEDs as to the actual draw, but you're limited to 2A on the main channel. Not 100% sure since I'm not looking at the manual right now, but I believe the FOC pad is 1.5a

Now, that's what the board is rated at, it might allow 2.5A or even 3A through. You'd need a multimeter or bench PSU to test. regardless, you're likely hitting a limit on the amount of current you can draw which is causing dimness.

Other possible issues could include the length of wire (adds resistance), mis matched LEDs (might have a low binned LED), over zealous resistor, bad solder joint, and others I can't think of ;)

I'll try shortening the wire to blade 2 and see what happens. Worst case I'll save up and snag a couple of NBv4s, for now its still a working and good looking saber.

Contrary to the manual, pretty sure the NBv3 mosfets can handle 4.5A+ limit, so that should be fine.

My vote's on it being a natural variance between the two LEDs.

That's my bet, too. Are any of the dyes on the 2nd LED resistored?

The red is resistored on both LEDs.

What resistors are you using? Is that second led in series behind the other one? As in, is the wiring to the second led straight from the board, or does it come off the first LED?

All LEDs are wired straight to the board with reds resistored with a 2 ohm 1 w I believe but I Might have that backwards.

I hope you have that backwards, lol.

hrmm, might just be a variance between the LEDs. wired directly to the board I would think both would be dimmer is it was an amperage issue through the board.

I do indeed have that backwards: 1ohm 2w. Are you saying I might get better results if I bridged the diodes?

No, don't run them in serial, won't work.

I'm saying you may have variances in the LEDs.
