I plan on ordering another asp lightsaber so im making the electronics for it so otll be ready to go.

Already ordered the NBv4 from TCSS and a 28mm speaker, led switch and recharge port off ebay(the same kind saberforge sells) but for munch cheaper since they ate coming from china direct. I have plenty of 26 gauge wire and some good 18650 batteties so I should get my first peices shortly to start the built. the saber ill be making will only have a 3.8 in body so im going to have not put anything on a chassis for now. Im just gonna solder up some wires to where everything needs to go and solder the speaker and keep everything unmounted for now so ill be able to work it in the more cramped space of the smaller body and prolly use foam to hold it together since i think itll be to short for an actual chassis but ill be doing it with all of u and show yalls every step of the way. I plan to order the actual saber prolly closer to christmas time whenever a good sale comes along. Ill have to measure my battery and if its the right length I may just mount the board and speaker to the battery and use velcro similar to what saberforge does. Stay tuned for my update. Should be getting the board in the next day or so.

How big is that hilt?

It looks like two switch sections attached to a pommel?

Interesting design and quite original. I am just trying to visualy decipher it.

At that size with thoes particular parts, it looks like it would be rather uncomfortable in the hand with all the rectangular shapes and edging.

I think youd have to hold it switch facing out.

Hi Danielbs80, Everybody,

About two years ago there was a discussion about "Youngling" sabers (No not the Chinese import SF are selling as theirs) but sabers designed for youngsters made from ASP parts. Here are a few that I came up with. I can't remember the lengths etc but thought you might like to see them.

Stubby Flex

Sith Acolyte

Kiddie Kenobi

Little Luke

They would also need things like tactile switches and a lot of Cram-Fu to fit everything in but these were only designed as a bit of fun.

Hope you like them,

Wellllll I don't really like any of those sabers especially since they don't have the switch section even. So I'm getting a couple packages today and I have noooooo idea what they are even so when they get delivered in a bit I'll go get them and show yalls.

Hello Danielbs80,

That is perfectly fine if they aren't your style. However I would point out that the Stubby Flex and the Kiddie Kenobi hilts do in fact have switch sections (Stubby Flex has the Juggernaut switch and the Kenobi has the Reliant switch section).

I look forward to seeing what your packages deliver,

So heres the battery I will be using for the next lightsaber I'm going to make. As u can see it's a little under 3 in which would probably make it right around 3 in once I attach the speaker to the bottom of it.

It looks like body i want is even shorter than i thought being 3.4in only so looks there will just be enough room if i solder the wires directly the the battery.

nice to see someone else making a 1-handed saber! Big fan of those, I have one currently WIP that measures 9.6in from emitter to pommel(8.35in without the pommel), very excited for that. On thing to note about your comments regarding chassis/internal construction: if you can fit your internals in, then you can fit a chassis, as the only function of a chassis is to fill the space between components and the saber body to prevent them banging around damaging each other. A chassis can be as basic as you want it to be, and with 3d printing, of any shape or configuration you wish. For the budget route, since you're not putting in a crystal chamber I will assume that internal aesthetics are not a priority, you may even consider making a chassis out of hot glue. The only limit is your ingenuity, and the more you can stabilize the components, the more reliable and long lasting they will be. Best of luck!

I juuuuuuuust ordered a 3d printer so i want to try to print a chassis. Never have used a 3d printer before but had found parts on tbingsverse i had others print for me back when i was building drones. I hope its not difficult to make designs. I suppose id need to know dimensions n whatnots. Does anyone recommend a good software? Also ill be offering 3d prints for people for just at cost for a while if anyone is interested. Should get it Thurs.

What do you think of a chassis like this?
