I'm thinking about having a saber contest for the makers DIYers and garage saber smiths. Best SaberForge modded saber wins 30lbs of mystery scratch and dent parts, first runner up gets 15lbs of mystery scratch and dent parts, second runner up gets 7.5lbs of mystery scratch and dent parts. Public voting for the three finalist and a panel of three SF judges will pick first, second, third. What do you guys think? Rules, you must have modded the saber submitted, the saber must have been made in the last three months, any others rule ideas post them below.

Phillip Isherwood Good question, I am going to say that the saber must be installed, but judging will be weighted on hilt aesthetics not cost of electronics. Edit 2: Phillip Isherwood: I'm thinking you have until april 20th to put your saber up for submission, you will need at least three images of your saber, one with a blade or blade plug lit. April 20th-30th will be community voting, 1,2,3rd from the finalists the community picks will be announced on may 4th. Edit 3:
Levi Heiser When you say the saber has to have been made in the past 3 months, is that the customization, or the actual original saber? Because I got my Saberforge in December, but I'd love to try to participate.

I agree, it is definitely a contender! However Jas-Ot would have to submit it, since he did the Mods. But, I believe he has already expressed the desire to do exactly that. So, we will see!

I think I'm going to build something that hasn't been seen before. I have some ideas. I'd love to submit Brax's V2 - and I still may if I end up not having enough time for this new build |

What if your saber is a constant work in progress?
Some modifications done last year and some this year? I'm an overly analytical thinker and much of time is spent looking at the saber and envisioning what it can be. Then a lot of time taken to search for suitable parts, taking measurements and convincing myself to drill or cut into it more etc... so ya...? |

Here is the official start of the contest, as posted by Phil:
Add three high quality pictures of your saber, at least one picture must show an ignited blade or blade plug, not digital blade effects please, color touch up is fine. Limit one saber entry per person, deadline to enter is 4/20
Facebook Photo Album for Contest Entries This means that you would have to post the three pics in that album on FB, and in order to do that, you have to be a member of the group. If you are not, get to the group and request admittance. It is usually granted in a matter of hours. |

Well, that is definitely one of my proudest builds. It's a gorgeous saber, as a huge fan of the V2, and Luke's Jedi saber in general, that one particular saber has me considering doing the same conversion for my collection. And I already own an amazing V2 from RPK. As for Phil doing a run, it would have to be a truly custom one off. Man --- I would love to be the one doing all those. Anyhoo..... since you asked..... |

Typically not. Once they approve, you just have the ability to post, as opposed to only viewing.
