He apparently still isn't quite clear on how his saber works (or maybe there's a defect he can't identify).

Edit: Ooooh! I freaking love the ASP Oracle emitter!

On these timing shims...how does that work? They stay in the hilt and just add a little space between parts?

Hi Borommakot,

Yes, sort of. The rings, sometimes called Clocking Shims prevent the threads from screwing together fully, and as a result the piece doesn't rotate fully so changes its alignment, There is a video by Rob Petkau on Youtube showing how these rings work and how to line up parts. I will find the video and post it, just give me a minute!

For Tyeth

EDIT: Here's the video (I hope this works)

Sorry it took so long couple of glitches and apologies they are MHS and not ASP PARTS!

They just work a little like washers. Every one you add means the next section will screw tight to a different degree. So you add however many you need between sections to make them line up. Should be nice and simple. Just how it looks neat.
Luckily my build won't need them.

#edit: damn. Too slow ;)

So in just the last 2 days we are seeing videos pop up for ASP. I want to say thanks to everyone that has found them. Clearly some are more helpful than others.

The first posted on this thread, now removed for whatever reason, was overly lengthy - 20 minutes using 1 hand the entire time to open a box, and fairly negative for those that didnt see it. But it was also a poorly done, not a lot of planning was done in the design, the instructions were not read, the guy did not seem to know what he was doing, etc. It was really hard to say if there were any actual issues or if it was just the guy that was the main issue. The switch design did look to have some concern including it's ability to turn the saber off and on but again it was so poorly done and the pieces were not tightened so I remain optimistic.

The second one was only about 90 seconds long and mostly a slide show of simple pictures, again not super helpful but it looked solid and well designed. Still at this point, any details are better than none.

More are coming in and there are several other threads of better videos, mostly positive. So again I remain excited and I think it will continue to be so as people understand how to put them together.

I did the apprentice saber smith level so no doubt mine will be one of the last to come given its size. That being said, I hope to post a lot of pictures and as much 'helpful' detail as possible.

Thanks for sharing.

For Tyth,

Thanks for that video. It helped me fix some line up issues with my 3d printed sabers.

@Snakeeyz99
I think it just bothers me so much because it breaks the first rule of shopping. When you're buying a tomato, you squeeze it and look for spots. You check the quality of what you're buying and make sure it's what you want before you buy it. Just seems irresponsible to me otherwise. :(

I don't disagree, and will fall on my sword here. I did a similar thing on US. it was very clear about the weaker 6w? led. It was a grab bag. I went through a link that put me straight on the hilts, never mentioned sound at all so I freely admitted that was my mistake. I tried to contact them and by the time they returned my e-mail it was too late. Though they admitted they were in the process of fixing that problem. Truly it is a face palm moment, but how excited were any of us on that first go? Though the breaking point for me is when people can't admit they were at fault. I should've done more research. Though I do maintain there is some logic to looking at a force fx and expecting a similar quality sound/led. Though I did specifically look for a mention of the sound, my flawed deduction was that it must be very basic and no Foc. So yeah my head was firmly up my *** B) I just ask you to recall that if a person hasn't even held a stunt saber the term is meaningless, and human nature is to assume too much. When I looked up sabers I was overwhelmed with info. Still on me, but they should've had No sound only hilt + led. That and I can really lack patience. lol

If Leo can wait 23 years for an oscar... I think we can wait another few weeks for our sabers

Ugg. That last "video" is pretty crappy. How can you call a series of still shots (that don't move in rapid succession) a "video"?

I wish someone would do a proper review and show each part up close and show the process of putting it together etc.

They will come. Unfortunately this is one of the downfalls of them focusing the lower tier backers first. The lower tiers are more likely to be people with only a passing interest and most of the true enthusiasts likely paid for the higher tiers. That's going to slow the news and hype coming out and also make it more likely people get their equipment and have no idea what to do with it, like guy who couldn't figure it out and already sold his...

I'm looking forward to more details too, but until they start shipping the higher tiers it will likely continue to be an exercise in patience with a very slow trickle of good quality information, pictures, and videos.

Uh oh, looks like somebody didn't want us to see this. Or maybe because now its causing people to get worried or suspicious about the condition of the sabers they're getting, so they had to take the video down?

Baseless speculation is baseless. SF isn't the KGB in the 1960s. For whatever reason the youtuber removed it. Contact him directly if you're curious why. Otherwise stay on target with the thread topic please.
You gotta chill bro. I was joking, no need to go keyboard warrior all over me. Sorry if I offended you.

Didn't see anyone share a link, but just in case anyone is only trolling the ASP section (which I was until a few minutes ago):
