Hahaha, new words of wisdom to live by.

As for the guy who sold his ASP already, it's the fellow from the Kickstarter comments who seemed to be under the impression that the pommel was the emitter and was convinced that the saber wouldn't accept a blade. He bought it as a gift, though, and it didn't arrive in time.

Ok, so Leo got an Oscar for heavy breathing in the cold for two and a half hours... and the guy didn't know which end of the saber was 'up'... we are setting the bar incredibly high here. Ha Ha

The new owner explained the problem. The allen key that came with the saber was the wrong size for the retention screw.

I think people should probably give the original dude a break.

The new owner actually did a really nice breakdown of it too.
Plus there's another unboxing online

So I was checking out another ASP arrival post, and the owner shared this picture of the partly assembled hilt:

Specifically, not the threads on the switch section. A lot of people called attention to it as too few threads to really withstand dueling. Is this something to be concerned about? Is it likely specific to this switch?

Anyone have thoughts on this?

We typically don't get access to this part of the hilt since these components are always glued together. MHS parts from TCSS have one more "layer" of threading on their components:

so I would say it's difficult to assess whether this will be a concern or not.

Thanks for the insight, h2soy, I do find that comforting. Do you think we'll need to glue this part of our ASP sabers, too?

Only if we want to make the build "permanent." Personally I'm not going to glue as my ASP sabers are for display/flavor not dueling.

I would say the most important part of any joint would be any deviation on this connecting surfaces if they don't flush 100%

This would lead to a gap somewhere, more than likely on one side, which can cause a slight wobble and over time cause the threads to wear and become loose.

I personally wouldn't worry. I'm more than certain these parts were put through their paces and if SF says they are duel-ready then I believe them. ASP will be my first saber from SF but a bud of mine bought one last year and from what I've seen of it - nuke the location and the saber will be the only thing floating in the void created :P

I was really happy to see this ASP arrive to it's owner: Our (or at least my) first view of an ASP Graflex emitter, posted on FB.

I love the way that looks.

Here's Scott Crim'S ASP. I got the go ahead to post on the forum. Backer #607 tier $150. Not sure if he was a Kickstart or Indiegogo.

This is my first look @body#5, in what looks like an all black finish.

That features aesthetic cues from assembly interests of drgolds. Have noticed his absence lately, I wonder if he and the Owner of that Graflex inspiration are one of the same?

I'm guessing this person is using QC to change the color of the LED? I missed out on the ASP kickstarter but I don't remember there being a "hero tier" option.

P.S. Love the design by the way

That's correct Andi; there's another pic where you can see the various QC modules lying around.

This ASP design just appeared on the Facebook group. guy is looking to trade it off though, strangely enough. I got him to post a pic of the emitter specifically, as we haven't seen pics of this one yet. I was digging this one on the saberparts builder, and I like it even more now

@blinky2lame, that's actually a nice combination of parts, I'd buy that. I wonder why the Owner would trade that so quickly also. Shame I've got nothing to trade or even initiate to as a non Fb user. I'm not familiar with the ASP Parts, can you tell me what emitter # or name reference it is please? Are these ASPs coming through all Warriors?

That's emitter #9, its not two toned on the builder.

From what we figurethey are shipping these out by tier. We've seen a few initiate tier (including my own) and warrior tier seems to be arriving most recently. So champion tier should be showing up soon enuff
