I just assembled mine, and I'm having the same issue. The darn top bit won't stay stable. I don't think I can even duel with it like this.

Since you said you assembled it, I assume you have an ASP saber. As Brax stated above, SF uses an adhesive (like loctite) on the threads of the hilts they assemble to prevent the parts from coming apart (it's the reason the thin neck sabers on the main site can't come with quick connects, since you have to take the hilt apart to access the LED) and may be what is required here.

Yeah I think they are a little loose on purpose. As you can see from the picture below on thin necks the LED attaches to the bottom of the brass section. So to attach it I threaded it all the way down and spun it it a tiny bit to attach the LED. Be careful not to tighten it to much may be a little difficult to remove, Then I just thread the neck back up and into place. I have wrapped plumbers tape around it and it is secure. It is not as tight as I want but for now is holding and I will keep tinkering with it as time goes on. So it will come down to how you wish to seal the the pieces together to keep them tight. I do just want to point out that I hope this does not discourage anyone from the thin neck style even if it is a little bit more work the end product is still amazing.

I will seek the courage to change the things I can in my life.

So there's no LED retention screw for thin necks? They actually attach to the base of the emitter? I'm wondering if that will work with a non-SF LED.

Correct and I am not sure it could sit in there but would not be tight unless the LED has a bit of threading on it and there really isnt that much threading connecting the two pieces and it looks to be in an estimate of 2 cm diameter. But that really is just a guess on my part.

Is there a C ring/clamp that helps hold the LED in place like their Elite thin necks?

Yes.
You are correct that on elite tiers the LED is held at the top of the grenade section with a snap ring and no retention screw is used.

What about with ASP? I would think it's the same but I haven't seen too many thin neck ASP reviews so I'm curious.

No on the thin neck it screw onto the brass piece. Below is an example video I just made of the brass section out of the grenade section.

Hm. I'm gonna have to find an alternative, since I'm planning on using a non-SF LED.

Glad to see that it wasn't just mine! That's a mighty fine looking 'saber you have there!

Thank you Grey, I found out a few days ago after getting my new electronic kit and building the saber back up that after threading the LED onto to the brass section if you screw the brass section up it will tighten on its own. BUT it sticks a tiny bit up over the top of the grenade which I do not like so plumbers tape is still my best solution in the end. Which looks like is how it was designed to be.

My ASP saber arrived today and there are three problems, I just emailed SF and hopefully it can be fixed

1. Main problem: Loose thin neck

my full asp redeemer's emitter part is loose and rattle. The part where the brass screws into the grenade section keeps going and does not stop going in. And it rattles when i swing it. Not stable.

2. Awkward problem: Bad covertec knob placement

The covetec knob was placed almost aligned with the switch box. It should have been on either side because now, the switch box blocks the covertec knob, its unable to go in the clip. I tried to unscrew and screw back in (the last part of the hilt) but the knob always end up the same place.

3. Lastly and self explanatory, no saber stand came with my parcel

I truly expect high quality and good service from SF, hopefully I ll be happier once i heard from them again, will update u guys.

Hey Ricchirau first would like to say love the saber it looks fantastic. I hope I can help

1. With the loosen emitter it will screw all the way down this will help to thread the LED onto the end of the brass neck. See my video above on how that works. I found out that after you screw on the LED and screw the brass neck back up through the grenade it will stop and become tight. Sadly in my eyes a very tiny bit of the threading sticks up and was not flush with my grenade. I elected like others to just use plumbers tape to help with keeping it secure and snug.

2. That is some bad placement on that convertec knob. Sending them the email was the best thing to do honestly they were great and my problem I had with my ASP. I hope the same goes for you.

3. Yikes I have seen that a few times lately maybe they ran out again? I know that was a problem earlier on in the shipping process.

Honestly give them time this was a new thing for them and they went through a lot. There is going to be ups and downs. I hope everything for you works out and you get to enjoy that saber to the fullest.

You said your thin neck saber was ASP, did it come with timing shims? That's how you get the parts to align how you want them to.

If you had gotten the saber off of the man site, they either would have drilled the hole for the covertec wheel in that part after everything was lined up or would have done the necessary clocking to get the parts to align.

With ASP, you will have to get the parts aligned using timing shims and/or a bit of sanding yourself, since the parts are prepared individually and are meant to fit all the others.

EDIT: clarity.

Thank you guys, at first I thought i had a defective saber, but now I realize it just needs some work. A saber builder told me to use loctite medium grade to "permenantly" glue the neck part. He says if it wasnt ASP, SF will pre-assemble it similarly... So i guess I just need some shimmings from SF and I am ready for some saber swinging :D
