Updated the date colors to reflect aged data. No new questions in a while seeing as in we're nearing the end stretch. Most questions being asked are now variations of older questions. Surprisingly little has been asked about stretch goals that wasn't "obvious." Someone did ask about whether they could add in the costs of ASP parts to their tier and anecdotal (not official) information came from "Breon":
I was told I could add the amount of another tier onto my pledge, and then clarify what exactly I was pledging for when they send out the backers survey.
Since there's been no official comment on this I'm not adding it to the FAQ. If anyone can confirm they've seen this info please speak up.

I was actually responding to a question about adding a belt to a pledge, which I think HAD been addressed earlier. Otherwise, the proof is in the screencap (although I was talking about adding another saber, not a belt):

I can't remember if I read this part before. Do the ASP kickstarters at the 350$ level use LED quick-connects? Like, if I get it in deep blue, can I later buy a quick connect violet and just pop that in? That basically determines whether or not I back this.

All ASP LED components utilize QCs. The video on the Kickstarter page does a pretty good job of showing how easy it is to attach a QC LED. It's definitely one of the biggest selling points for me as well.

Cleaned up the thread. Was being derailed by a useless argument. Don't dip into it again, please.

Do we know what the finish is called that is used on the Phoenix and Ka'tano? Would it be the standard or the silver?

It's an anodized silver which isn't abailable on the ASP parts.

That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, I wonder if the silver is close enough or just go with the standard.

This Kickstarter is more a strain on my head than my wallet. Haha.

it will depend from part to part. Here's the breakdown...

- Silver = part is all silver
- Black = part is all black
- Standard = part has both silver and black aspects
- Weathered = black that is "weathered" down to show some of the silver beneath

As for the Phoenix it can't be directly recreated but you could get something vaguely similar. However if you are referring to the brushed finish silver as it appears on etsy, then you're out of luck as that is currently not an ASP finish. Not sure if/when other finishes will be added, but I think I remember reading that in the later monthly expansions that they were going to look at some other finishes.

Yeah, kind of a bummer. Maybe I'll just try to build something a little more unique and a full saber.

Thanks all.

If I was to order basically just a redeemer through ASP, a few questions.
1: Is it the 2015 model?
2: What pommel goes with it?
3: Which emitter is the most accurate? It's all black with the different color top, but for asp it's either all black or all silver.
4: So I get a covertec belt clip for backing, but there isn't a covertec on the saber?

Is it the 2015 model?
It'll be the ASP iteration of the 2015 model.
What pommel goes with it?
To my eyes the Jade looks like the closest analogue.
Which emitter is the most accurate? It's all black with the different color top, but for asp it's either all black or all silver.
Redeemer Emitter 3 in standard finish is as close as you'll get.
So I get a covertec belt clip for backing, but there isn't a covertec on the saber?
Covertecs are a component at the base of every body (it comes with it). It doesn't show up on the builder (but it'll be there).

Wow man, you aren't a Platinum member for nothing! Thanks so much for the detailed answers AND how fast it was! You're the man.

Guess now I just have to decide whether or not to go with that, and then to either get a longer body or a different emitter (maybe one of the psudo thin necks ASP ones), since I'm a big guy and prefer sabers I can use two handed.

This may be a question for Phil, but is it possible to put the covertech knob on the emitter a'la Phil's RGBA demo on youtube?

Yikes, that's definitely a question for someone on staff at SF. I would suggest you email your question to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. where you're more likely to get it answered.

I have a quick couple of questions now that i have filled in my ASP kickstarter survey. Sorry if these have been answered before
  1. Blades - Is there a difference in the blades for ASP from the blades they sell on the main site or etsy?
    • For example: could i order a few extra blades of different lengths and get them around or before the kickstarter rewards ship?
    • or do i have to wait for the ASP to go live to the public before I order extra blades?

  2. Finish - Is there any plans of adding more finishes to the current ASP parts or to new parts (after public release) with copper/electrum finish on buttons, shrouds, inlays, etc...?
    • So people could build custom sabers that have a similar appeal to windu or sidious' electrum sabers.
