Just the kit. The switch sections will come with 2 holes, and the current kits should all come with one dummy switch like on existing warrior tier sabers for the second hole.

This is different from the kickstarter(which means everyone can buy)?are they any differences in the kickstarter and this?

Should need just electronics. The whole point of the ASP electronics is for them to be plug and play - you'd probably just take out the set screw that's holding the LED and battery in place, unscrew the switch / emitter from the body, then swap the electronics and reverse the process.

If you watch the video where ASP was announced and they go through building a saber, it looks like the actual switch is a separate module with a pair of quick connects. I'm betting there's a way to remove it from the ASP part and exchange it when you upgrade.

Good point, I suppose they've figured out something with the switch section, I mean, I bet everyone is going to be upgrading to an in-hilt recharge port. Can anyone give us some details/answers about this?
Also, if we preorder, will the saber we receive have a 12 watt or 12watt plus LED? On the preorder site it says a regular 12watt is included with the warrior tier and above, yet, on the ASP site the only LED to choose from is the 12watt+. Is this some typo mistake or something?

The point of the plug-and-play electronics kits is that there is no soldering required; usually the switch is wired to the board/power supply, but with an ASP kit, the wires are done with quick connects so you can easily put the switch in, and plug it in. I doubt they will be breaking the kits into smaller pieces/components to sell, and keep them as full kits instead, but there is a chance that this could be.

Yes. One was a kickstarter, this is an indiegogo. ;) Different tiers for rewards are included. Namely, there aren't as many in the indiegogo as there were in the kickstarter. This is primarily to give those a chance that missed the kickstarter to still get in on the goodies.

Unless the indiegogo campaign limits orders, nope. And from what I can see, it does not.

Great thanks. And what of the LEDs? It says on indiegogo, in the description for the tiers, that the LED included in Warrior tiers and above use a 12watt, BUT on the ASP site the LED that you put into your design is a 12watt+. I'm confused, which one is it?

You'll also notice that the Indiegogo material is directly copy/pasted from original Kickstarter campaigns. The 12W+ LEDs were originally introduced during the kickstarter. Phil initially stated the all kickstarter backers would receive 12W+, and the new LEDs would fully release with the ASP system, which means they'll be available to Indiegogo participants as well.

Sorry, I think I was trying to say the same thing and didn't get it across. I shouldn't type before at least 2 cups of coffee. :)

I don't expect SF to sell individual electronics parts separately. I was just thinking of what you'd have to do if you wanted to swap an in-hilt recharge kit for the initial ASP electronics once they're available, since the switches were a concern.

So, I just spoke with Phil on the topic of electronics kits, and what will be needed to change for in-hilt recharge once they come out, and upgrading to them...

He has stated he is working on developing a drop-in upgrade, so an entirely new electronics kit would not be necessary, BUT there is a chance that the idea he is working on will not work, and a new kit MAY be needed. This is still in development at this time.

Alright, its really late, but one more question I swear! If I got a warrior tier preorder, will the pommel still be vented for sound? Please and thank you.

It is safe to assume so, yes. I have only ever seen 1 or 2 pommels ever come from SF that weren't vented for sound on warrior tier sabers. The Warrior tier saber in my signature is vented for sound, and it doesn't have a soundboard.. yet. Haha.

Is the sinister prophecy pommel one of these that aren't? Am I safe? My design uses that pommel

Haha.. I didn't mean design of pommel, I meant pommels in general. I've only ever seen 1 or 2 in total in the entire time I've followed SF. And one of those was on a Consular... the other was a Fury, I believe.

Thank you, my worries have been put to rest, I think that should be it for concerns. Lots of questions needed to be asked before I made my first purchase from SF.

My warrior tier Epoch was not vented - BUT - it is also 2+ years old.

My more recently purchased Warrior Tier Consular did come vented. I think it's a safe bet to assume the ASP pommels will all be vented too.
