The point of the plug-and-play electronics kits is that there is no soldering required; usually the switch is wired to the board/power supply, but with an ASP kit, the wires are done with quick connects so you can easily put the switch in, and plug it in. I doubt they will be breaking the kits into smaller pieces/components to sell, and keep them as full kits instead, but there is a chance that this could be. Sorry, I think I was trying to say the same thing and didn't get it across. I shouldn't type before at least 2 cups of coffee.  I don't expect SF to sell individual electronics parts separately. I was just thinking of what you'd have to do if you wanted to swap an in-hilt recharge kit for the initial ASP electronics once they're available, since the switches were a concern. |

So, I just spoke with Phil on the topic of electronics kits, and what will be needed to change for in-hilt recharge once they come out, and upgrading to them...
He has stated he is working on developing a drop-in upgrade, so an entirely new electronics kit would not be necessary, BUT there is a chance that the idea he is working on will not work, and a new kit MAY be needed. This is still in development at this time. Hope this helps, guys... lol. |

It is safe to assume so, yes. I have only ever seen 1 or 2 pommels ever come from SF that weren't vented for sound on warrior tier sabers. The Warrior tier saber in my signature is vented for sound, and it doesn't have a soundboard.. yet. Haha.

Is the sinister prophecy pommel one of these that aren't? Am I safe? My design uses that pommel

Haha.. I didn't mean design of pommel, I meant pommels in general. I've only ever seen 1 or 2 in total in the entire time I've followed SF. And one of those was on a Consular... the other was a Fury, I believe.

Thank you, my worries have been put to rest, I think that should be it for concerns. Lots of questions needed to be asked before I made my first purchase from SF.

My warrior tier Epoch was not vented - BUT - it is also 2+ years old.
My more recently purchased Warrior Tier Consular did come vented. I think it's a safe bet to assume the ASP pommels will all be vented too. |

The Epoch I recently received was vented. The only saber I've received that was a warrior tier not vented was a Sorcerer staff from back in early May. It's probably like that because the coupler is vented.

Email I received from SF detailing the process:
Preorder your perk and start building your saber! You send the message directly to Phil Isherwood via Indiegogo. To do this once you've made your contribution is to go to the "my contribution" link at the top of the page and follow it through to the details of your contribution and message via:Once you purchase your perk, you are ready to start building your saber with our virtual saber builder. LINK TO VIRTUAL SABER BUILDER Check your perk level for the parts and quantities you can select, when you find the perfect combination of parts for your perk, send us a message with your part list, don't forget to include the part name, finish, or color. OK OK, I know I said I was going to do it, but the voice at the back of my head (actually I think it might be my wallet trying to talk to me about making this decision) is telling me to ask a few more question. I am 90% sure I'm gonna do this, but I need some answers first. *Does a sith encantation to summon administrators and h2soy*
1. I know there aren't any exact dates in Saberforge but, if I preorder now, when will the saber MOST LIKELY be delivered and in my possession, like in my hands? 2. I'm leaning toward getting an empty hilt because I'm just going to wait for the first expansion that will have the in-hilt recharge port to buy the electronics (champion of course). The question(s): will I be able to buy the electronic kits separately once they are available? And from where exactly? The saberforge main site, the ASP site, or ETSY? 3. How much would the separate ASP electronics kits cost, if you can't really say, just give your best guess? If not, would it be like buying-an-entire-saber-again expensive or just like $50-80? |

2- yes. In fact ASP kits will be listed soon on etsy. 3- you'll know pricing information with everyone else when they are listed on etsy.

Will preordering now have an advantage over people who waited for the release of ASP in November?
Once those kits are available on etsy, will they have the in-hilt recharge port or that will only be when the first expansion set kicks in? Will there be some update to the kits being sold on etsy so that they will have a said recharge port installed? |
