Updated with some updates to time frames, notes on production times, and most importantly:
Q - What is the "nightlite" option I've heard of?

A - This can be tricky; there are two things which are almost the same thing, and most commonly, they are both referred to as the "nightlite" option. It is important when placing your order to know the difference and make sure you are requesting the right one for what you want.

Nightlite - The actual term Nightlite refers to an in-hilt recharge port that is not wired like a typical recharge port. In this situation, the battery does not charge when it's plugged in... the LED turns on while it is plugged in. This is ideal for wall-hanging or decoration, where you can have the saber plugged in and turned on for display.

In-hilt recharge - Adding the in-hilt recharge (normally only available on Champion and Hero tiers) to a warrior.

Both of these have the same cost, but the term "nightlite" is commonly referred to for both, and it's a rather important distinction.

Something that isn't quite clear (at last to me) is about shipping options. I ordered via Etsy and they have only one shipping cost when I proceed with order payment. I assume SF uses USPS (judging from video reviews of saber unboxing, showing the familiar triangle box packages with the USPS logo).

My question is, is this the fastest shipping option that one can choose from? It seems the standard shipping is an economy class shipping, which takes several days longer for international customers. It would be nice if we can opt for fastest "priority" shipping, obviously at an extra cost. Thanks.

Thanks . But I think the USPS "Priority" service takes 6 to 10 business days though. Other services' "Priority" service takes 3 to 5 business days and comes with extra charge. I was wondering if the USPS Priority is in fact the fastest priority service.

Domestic is like 2-3 day priority mail, website says international is 5-6 day (and then however long at customs).

We ship exclusively with USPS. Priority mail in the domestic US is 2-3 day shipping at the most affordable rates on the market. You should see some of the quotes for a 2 day delivery from FedEx for the toblerones... it's unreal. International shipping is the same, and it's 6-10 days. Of course sometimes customs (not the shipper) slows that down. There's nothing that can be done about that without paying the customs fees upfront (which is what express shippers like FedEx and US do, they pay customs fees then bill the shipper for them. Usually because these fees are ballparked and FedEx etc don't care, they declare packages at full value which results in much much higher costs in the long run. Ie: base shipping rate 75 dollars instead of 50, then add on fees (based on the price of the saber iself) up to $200. We try to remain cost effective.

I am sorry if I am in the wrong spot to be asking (new here) if it is please point me in the right direction, but I was wondering if the purple blade color was more towards the dark purple, the exact mix between red and blue, or kind of ventured more towards the pink color, cause I love the perfect mix and dark purple but can't stand the purple-pink color and would rather a blue... Please help!

If that's the case take a look at indigo instead of purple. There are a number of reviews you can find in both colors now. I'm still waiting on my first saber and decided to go with indigo for similar reasons.

I have been warned that cameras don't always capture the color correctly at the use filters and settings to compensate for the brightness which can throw off the color. When looking at images of colored blades the common suggestion is to look at the edge of the aura given off.

Could we have some more added to the customs shop bit? I'm still not clear on what exactly entails the customs shop, like how ordering from them is different, or if they do complete sabers or just customization upgrades.

Very helpful FAQ. Only one thing I noticed that wasn't addressed: what exactly is 'LED Quick Connect'? It's a payable option in sabers of Warrior-class up, and I'd like to know what it means so that I don't go spending money on something I may not need.

The quick-connects are small plugs added to the wires of the LED that allow for easier, solder-free swapping of LED modules. The 5 dollars is probably worth it for the connectors and soldering work if you're not familiar and plan to swap out your LED often. If you're an electronics hobbyist you'll recognize them as Deans micro connectors.

I had a question, now that I think about it. In terms of saber electronics how in-depth are we allowed to go? For example, if I wanted to basically start a knowledge dump for how a saber fundamentally works would that be allowed? I understand if Saberforge would prefer me not discussing anything bordering on "trade secrets," but I haven't been able to find any clear definition if there is a line that should not be crossed.

I have one which I did not see, and if I missed it then I apologize. The SF site says the warranty is one year from date of purchase, but in my case for instance I got my sabers 3 months after I actually purchased them. So do warranties start before were ever get our sabers or when they are confirmed as delivered?

Warranties are one of those case-by-case things that are best handled directly from a customer service rep. so you might want to ask This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. about it.

Warranties begin from when you received the saber.

LED quick connects are quick plug-style connectors installed on the LED wires so that you can easily remove and swap out the LED module in your hilt (in any hilt that is compatible with the quick connect system) and change the color of your saber without the need to know how to solder the wires and connect the LED to the board or battery pack directly.

Maybe worth adding.

Hi guys,

superb FAQ.

A couple of things I think could be of use for newbies like myself but not sure if it's something you would encourage or do.

I've been reading endless pages and reviews to get a feel for the advantages and disadvantages between the different Saber makers.

I.e Saber Forge, Ultra Saber, Mokoto, Park Sabers etc.

I was especially interested in who makes the brightest Saber, best sounding, most durable etc...

I also think an explanation on life cycle of Sabers and the difference between Etsy and Saber force as it's not easily identifiable at first.

I've found most of my answers either in sub forums or by trawling the web but having a cliff notes version in the FAQ would be superb.

Otherwise this is awesome.
