A little concept I am toying with. If I could, I would add some silver highlights to certain areas, but then we get into custom territory.

To Brax,

I am liking the design you have going there. It is both Sinister and Majestic looking at the same time! The red and black are a classic and the idea of the silver highlights made me wonder. The edges of the vanes on the pommel would look good coated silver, and on the rings of the emitter nearest the switch I think.

The BHC gains momentum. Come the time when I take delivery and have something close to an all black Hilt, I shall knock on the door of reception and remain hopeful that membership will still have vacancies.

I'm going to have to start my own group. "The Un-Clunky, Simple, Sleek, Practical and Useable Saber Club (no control boxes aloud) LOL! Those sabers with claws look cool, but try wearing them and find out how much they bother your thighs. In a lock up, those details would probably be either cut off or melted anyway. They also take away from the full length of your usable blade. Anyone could probably strike you down even before you unsnag your saber from your robe LOL!!!!

Uh oh, I have some claw designs incoming as well! Love the all-black design For Tyeth.

A quick try at making a Plo Koon saber.

The standard of the designs being posted just keeps getting better!,

To Savannah95, two awesome designs at either end of the spectrum of light and dark! Not to mention appropriate names to go with them.

Blinding Light, I like the illusion that the ridges run along the switch section and body section through the grip shroud, very Qui-Gon with a twist.

Nightfall, that combo of weathered and Purple blade always seems to look good.BZArcher has a Disciple in a similar colour scheme and they would make a nice pair.
Impressed I am.

To NeBosa, you are right SF need to bring out new parts to fulfil your creative skills! The hilt easily shows it's inspiration. I'm surprised you haven't posted more in the past. Thanks for this one.

I've posted a few designs near the first handful of pages but have made and deleted a countless many others.

I actually was the one that began this thread
however got away from the builder for a few months as I lost interest in it and honestly still don't have a lot of interest in it.

I have one design that I keep going back to and find there are many different elements in it that compliment each other with the flow of how some of the lines match up. One of these is the silver separations of the blacked body sections and how they line up with the 3 claws on the emitter that are also the same widths. Meaning the black sections on the body are the same widths as the space between each claw on the emitter. The base of the body has those flat sections. 9 of them, to match the 9 cubes on the pommel. Also the flat sections on the base of the body have the 3 lines milled in which compliment the 3 emitter claws and what not.

I have a couple of names for it as I haven't been able to lock it down to just one. It's one of my favourite designs and I've withheld it purposefully. I suppose I'll finally share it. The names I cannot choose between are Mirage and Malice

So many hilts here. I wonder if they will do another contest without a random drawing. There are currently 2 or 3 ASP design topics. It would be cool to see them actually pic a winner based off design merits and not just random.

That's a good point. Maybe 10 judges each pic 3 a piece. Then those go into drawing? I remember original ASP contest design was won by one of the pledge backers. His saber looked cool but there were definitely other contenders. I've always wondered how they made their decision.

The hilt you have revealed is a beauty, I think Mirage is the more suitable as it appears lightside. The name "Illusion" did cross my mind however similar to Mirage.
