After fence sitting on the LED saber hobby for weeks leading up to and after TFA, I bit the bullet, and ordered an ASP saber in the last week of December. So I've had one of the shortest waits to get my hilt. Here was the design:

As it appears in the updated builder:

And here it is!

It arrived today, and I'm extremely happy with it. As the video notes, there were some (expected) color differences, and the package didn't have timing shims, but otherwise, it's exactly what I ordered. I was worried about the blade plug, after seeing some of the first ones that came out, but it look just fine. I may try to grind down the rim around the edge so that it can be recessed a little further into the hilt; I'm not as fond of the plugs sitting on top of the emitter. It's a smidge over 12.5" long and pretty comfortable. I'll probably do some smoothing of the two spines that run up the body, but it's not a concern.

And here are some pics!

Individual parts

Assembled on stand

The only other thing I was worried about was the stand. I really, really wanted a triangular one, but I saw they were randomly chosen. Then, SF replaced all their stands with the new style, so the only thing I could have wanted was one with the Phoenix emblem, and that's what I got! So, doubly satisfied :D

Contrary to what the video suggests, I do have some electronics, a complete ASP champion set I purchased from h2soy, but it's reserved for my wife's hilt. Still, I couldn't resist seeing what it looked like ignited, so...

A very unique saber! While it might not match exactly what the saber builder showed, it still looks darned good!

Congrats on your saber!

Borommakot, Awesome hilt. The long wait has ended, and you selected parts look fantastic. Are those prints on the wall your work? They resemble Nikolas D-I. feudal Star Wars series, talented illustrater. Good luck with your official install.

Look'n good! The horizontal striping on the standard finish looks great and that body looks much better (IMO) than in the rendering. All in all a classy design.

Congrats on finally getting your ASP!! I really have become a big fan of emitter windows and yours looks great! I hope you get to spend some time with your new saber after all that waiting. Nice new phoenix stand also! Enjoy!

No, I wish I had any talent for illustration; those are by Shirahama Kamome. The style is very reminiscent of the feudal Star Wars characters, though. :)

Wow that is a fantastic design. I had looked at that emitter but was unsure on how I felt about it. Seeing a working version of it makes me want one now. Thank you for sharing your work of art.
I will seek the courage to change the things I can in my life.

After some experimentation, I found a combination of timing shims that lined up the hilt the way I intended it:

Nice combo.
I think I like that body section in that finish over the render on the builder.
Congrats on the pick up

After what feel like an eternity of struggle...I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING! I'm so happy right now. Ol' Naigon himself pointed me at the solution, and just minutes later, it sprang to life and hasn't had issue since.

I played around with it for a while, and then removed the internals again, just for the time being. It's still a really tight fit down by the bottom of the battery, so getting the chassis out basically requires dismantling the hilt, and because there's currently now kill switch, I don't want to just leave a battery sitting in it. I'll get it all installed again when it's time for SLCC.

But oh, what a relief. I was seriously worried I had ruined the board and would have to scrap it. Now the second one I have on order can go in the Wayard!

Congrats Mate! I actually cheered a little when I read your Post as I've been following this struggle of yours but being nonethewiser to be able to contribute towards a solution. Much like Bo'rom ventures deeper into the Caves apprehensively approaching the ghostly whispers, you too have just completed your own Trials. ;)
