Agreed, I think weathered red or blood orange is the way to go with this one.

Apprentice sabers especially you seem to feel the heat from the led far more quickly than on a normal saber, but all the led modules have a heating included, and should be fine. Unless you're noticing a burning smell, blade melting, or the saber is just too hot to touch.. these are indicators of a faulty led module.

That being said, the new LED modules actually use less energy, so I can only imagine that the heat generation is actually lower... the die are simply placed closer together to create a more focused beam of light to reduce base flare.
