Hi, all.
Not sure if this is exactly the right place for this, but Brax can yell at me if it isn't.  I wanted to let people know that TPLA's Darth Nonymous (Chad Ironmonger) is coming into town to visit the local TPLA group (Orbital Saber Arts) to do a workshop on Saturday, April 9th. The workshop will run 1-5pm, and will be held at 1327 King Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43212. Here's the details from their Facebook page:
Orbital Saber Arts of Columbus, OH is proud to host Darth Nonymous, head instructor of Terra Prime Lightsaber Academy (https://www.facebook.com/TerraPrimeLightsaberAcademy). This workshop will offer insights for both beginners and the experienced alike in learning how to duel with LED lightsabers.
Special guest: Q&A with Darth Alice of Darth Alice Sabers (https://www.facebook.com/Darth-Alice-Sabers-198897790278047), known for his oval-shaped custom katana sabers and other Star Wars prop marvels. TPLA was formed in 2012 by instructors of many different traditional martial arts systems to create a comprehensive, deep system of lightsaber combat based off of the fictional Seven Lightsaber Forms in Star Wars. It is the first online, open-source lightsaber school in the galaxy. No prior martial arts experience required. Protective gear and lightsaber will be provided if you don't have them already. There's a decent spread of us around the state, I think. I know there's a few in the Columbus area, and I think there's several in Akron too. |

I'm pretty new to the hobby myself so it's good to see local support. My friend has also expressed interested in getting into this hobby so I forwarded this event to him. We'll see if it ends up working out that we can go.
