While I was driving around I was hit with the question/thought about a saber using black light LEDs.

Would such a thing be possible and if it is, would it even produce a good effect/color along the blade? I know you can buy black light LEDs, but I have no personal experience with their quality or their ability to produce a good black light color effect.

Anyone have any insights on this or know if it would be worth while? Unfortunately I dont have a saber to tinker with yet (2 weeks! so close!) but this is something I would very much be interested in seeing the results of or testing myself if there is a chance of it working

My current 6 sabers:

Warrior Consular
Warrior Venom
Warrior Epoch (x2)
Warrior Sinister
Champion Venemous Fury

As for a black light LED, I don't think the effect would be too good. The blade would look pretty faint, and blue. If your outfit or surroundings are black light reactive, it could make for an interesting way to control the exposure they get. Also if elements of the saber hilt itself used reactive or glow material.

This is exactly the route i was thinking when I had the idea. Incorporating black light reactive patterns/designs into the saber itself, or into the clothes/costume which would remain hidden until brought to light by the blade
