How much light it gives off:

Livingroom, early evening, overcast/cloudy light through the windows.

Bathroom, door closed, lights off.

B-E-A ...utiful! Really love the two-tone finish you have there( Black and Brass). Also great choice of color for the LED.

Thanks a lot man. The brass was a no-brainer. I asked them if the could do that whole blade holder ring above the tsuba in brass too but they said no. I wouldn't of minded copper as an option for the blade plug and cover tech either to be honest. And I don't think you can go wrong with any blade colour ;)

If you plan on getting into both hobbies though, it can be expensive lol I think we both know.... ;)

They look great man, I have a few myself, though one I'll be giving to my brother-in-law. I want a katana lightsaber more and more as i look at how cool it is with your other ones.

It can be expensive for sure like any hobby. Luckily I stopped collecting swords a long time ago. Just kept the few I liked most. Gave my brother a couple as well.

And thanks man; you know what? It turned out better than I expected. Now I'm just waiting for SF to get back to me regarding sending it back in for sound and quick connect upgrade (might change the colour as well). And once it returns I have a mod I'm going to do to the hilt that I hope turns out...

Tsukamaki wrapping difinitely matches this one, and Ripper blade also.
If you get insurgent someday, you can do Ni-toryu just like Musashi did!

That Saber looks absolutely fantastic! I've been planning on buying a Katana for a while now and possibly another for a friend's birthday and I have to admit, the brass additions look awesome.

I do have a couple of questions though, did you order your Saber on the Esty shop or the website? And is the 12.5 inch difficult to do spins with (e.g the Obi-Ani Flourish)?
Bowties are cool... And so are Lightsabers!

I don't think I'll be doing a tsukamaki wrap on it, but I will be doing…. something…
And you're right!! I was thinking about getting both the Insurgent and Divergent for the Ni-toryu. But the Insurgent definitely.

Ordered off the main site on Feb 12, received in Canada yesterday June 4th. I just ordered the Phoenix two days ago on Etsy as well. I haven't really swung it around a lot to know if it's difficult to do spins and flourishes with.

Exactly!
the o-rings sit in the milled grooves nicely. Maybe even run a small bead of glue to ensure they don't move around.
Doesn't look too bad. Its added grip and comfort to the hilt as well without adding to overall circumference. I just grabbed the wrong set of keys from my box at work to remove the covertech wheel and be able to finish the last 3 rings. Been wondering what brown o-rings may look like??

Brown is standard color of Oring, I prefer black one.
How about Menuki like this?

I have no idea what kind of Menuki suit for this hilt, but Katana hilt seems to have broad canvas on side.

One issue I've encountered. I felt the hilt getting warm. Had it on for less than 10mins. Only enough time to snap a few pics with the blade in and found that it was hard to remove (expanded in size due to heat). Upon further inspection, found portion of the inside of the blade had been melted.

Is this a serious issue? Will this make the blade un-usable? Since I'm considering purchasing this saber for myself, I don't want to buy it and have it break after 10 minutes.
