So after ~20 weeks of waiting my saber is finally out for delivery today. Unfortunately, no one will be at my house before 5 PM today (when my local post office closes). So my question is: does Saberforge require signature confirmation or does USPS just leave the toblerone at the door? I know some people are surprised to find a package waiting for them when they come home but I wasn't sure if anyone had to actually sign for them.
After so long a time, it would just be painful knowing my saber was in town but that I had to wait one more day to actually get my hands on it. |

I guess that would depend on your location. If it's a very small town they might just leave it on the doorstep or tucked out of sight, but if it's a larger town or city they will probably postpone delivery.
Here they just leave parcel pickup slips if you're not there to collect it when the mail is delivered. Then again I'm also in Canada so I cannot say for certain how they'll drop it off for you. I suppose you could call and inquire about their policies. |

If you are in the States, Yes they require a signature. You could go on USPS site an have them hold it for pick-up tomorrow. Since it's out for delivery you will not be able to get it today, unless you play hookie. Go to there Web site enter tracking # to hold for pick up tomorrow.

I would definitely play hookie but unfortunately my current project at work won't let me. Which means if I can't get the package today I'll have to sign the slip they leave at my door and get it tomorrow...

Yes you have to sign your name. I waited outside in a chair next to the mail boxes that day. There was no way I was going to wait another day. LOL

Signing the slip wont help. You WILL have to contact them and request for a pickup @ your local PO!!

That isn't true as far as I know. I just had to deal with this situation personally. I missed a package delivery and just had the slip. I called the post office to see if the driver was still close by and could try to redeliver. Long story short: The manager at the post office told me that all I had to do was sign the slip itself and leave it out for the mailman the next day. That slip is what they get you to sign anyway when they deliver the package. So if you sign it and leave it for them, they will leave your package if you aren't there to get it. I'm in Lake Wales, Florida (United States) and thats the policy here. |

I have an hour long commute, so unfortunately picking it up during Lunch is out of the question :/ I'm going to try to sign the slip, since I think that worked for me a few years ago, and if that doesn't work I'm gonna try to see if I can push some work from Friday over into my weekend.
I stay in a small town, so no one's gonna be taking any boxes from my porch. |

I once had 2500 worth of computer parts sitting on my porch for a weekend (I was away and they arrived early). The computer case was packaged like you'd find it on a store shelf, so it was easy to guess what was in the rest of the packages. I'm not too worried.
