I was wondering if anyone has ever tried a colored blade and tried to mix colors. For example, I ordered a Amber blade but was thinking of trying a purple day blade or even a blue or red to see how the colors mix.

I am thinking it might be cool to try red LED with blue day blade, or blue LED with green day blade.

Anyone try things like this?

I'm willing to bet that it would just be whatever color the day blade is, but dimmer.

It is do-able. Will let you draw your own conclusions about brightness and whether or not it is compromised. Unless you've got a super-duper camera, lit blades by picture or video tend to lack a little accuracy to what you actually see in person.

Your primary Led colour makes the difference that either promotes a boosted-effect or creates an alternate blade colour with a different core. It's debatable whether this short-sells the overall effect or not.

Lord Callous did a Review a little while back with his Bane, a 12+RED with a red Day Blade.

There's also a video demonstrating the results of different coloured Day Blades where the Primary Led colour is Blue. There's two parts, see can see Part 1 as an indication and provides an example of what I mean by different core. An Accolyte and a Rebel are used for the demonstration.

An interesting experiment.

In regards to the coloured day blades, I was curious if I got say a green blade and had my hilt with a white LED, would that make a full white core right up to the tip, but give off a green glow due to the colour of the blade?

From photos I've seen, it looks like if you have LED's that make a green blade, it starts out with a bright white core and a green glow, but fades the further up the light goes making the blades core look like a dull green/blue with a green glow. I've noticed this particularly with red LED's. It looks great at the base with a white core and a red glow, but as you get further up it looks like it has an orange core with a red glow. That's really too bad. I'd love a red blade, but if it really does have an orange core, that's not what I picture when I think of a STAR WARS red bladed sabre This could just be due to the lighting in the photo. I really don't know.

Anyways, any thoughts on a white LED with a coloured day blade? Oh, and any comments on how a coloured led with a regular V4 infinity blade looks in person would be most welcome.

The white core isn't really there at all, and in the day blades the colored poly-something-or-other would just turn the white light that color coming out of the blade. Maybe. At any rate, the white core you see in photos is just the camera being unable to handle how bright the LEDs in these "lightsaber" things are, and being washed out as a result. Since the blades get slightly dimmer towards the top, the overexposure isn't as bad, and you see some of the color of the blade.
