Yah I've done that to confirm I want the old style of kill key. Still waiting to hear back, but I'm hoping they give me the option. The new kill key doesn't really in-universe with the sabers. It's great for SF marketing, but perhaps they should consider including both for those who want to use them.

Could just be a matter of not having the opportunity to update their photos to include the new kill key. I am sure they look at the new design as an improvement, and therefore a perk that everyone would be happy to get. If that is not the case, as always, make customer service aware of it. If you want the choice, let them know. |

I emailed Saberforge about a week ago requesting the old style kill key on my saber that i ordered. They emailed me back and told me the new style kill key is the ONLY one they offer now.......

Couldn't agree more. Especially with ASP granting full customization. Why would the kill keys be any different. I wouldn't mind the new kill key if they got rid of the etching. Nice and clean... |

I know these forums are a nice way of communication, but I would really like to see a SF blog where they can post regular updates on a frequent basis. It might not seem like it to them but new stands/blade plugs and kill keys are a big deal to us buyers. It would help them out as well since not everyone has Facebook either.

That would be nice, but as no such thing currently exists, the only way we have to communicate our ideas, requests, and complaints is through customer service. I know I sound like a broken record, but it really is our only means of direct communication; and while you might feel like it is a waste of time, it has a much higher probability to get a response, or inspire a course of action than anything said here.

The May the 4th deal was too good to pass up. Looks like the kids and I are getting some new toys.....I mean tools!
All Hero tier, all standard finish. Acolyte with deep blue blade, for me Bastion with a green blade for my son Consular with a purple blade for my daughter Whichever the free hero tier saber is, will go to my wife so she can get in on this action as well. So excited and the best part is, the kids don't know they are coming! |

well boys and girls, I've gone and done it again. my fourth saberforge saber will be an Initiate tier Templar, standard color scheme with a black stingray wrap. couldn't afford electronics at this time, but I couldn't resist buying it. just gotta make the long, but worthwhile, wait. at least I'll have time to think about what LED color I'll want.

Just a follow up to the questions about the kill key...this is the response I received from my email:
Hello! The new kill keys are the only ones we currently offer. We no longer carry the old style. The new kill keys work much better because they sit in the saber better than the old style. They are also lower profile, and have a better grip for removal. May the Forge be with you! Melissa |

i was wondering, the long waiting period is due to the back log of numerous orders.
However, will the tier of the saber purchased have an effect on the waiting duration? e.g. if i order a warrior tier, will it arrive faster than a champion tier?  Are there any other factors that contribute to the waiting duration? |
